Aerodactyl just stops Active Pokemon from evolving but usual decks that makes use of evolution evolve them from the bench. I can see a combination of Pidgeot+Aerodactyl locking down opposing deck though.

I see Aerodactyl as a “Win Harder” Card. 90% of decks want to evolve on the bench except for the first few turns, and Aero’s nearly impossible to pull out early. If your opponent is evolving in the active spot by the time Aero gets out, they’re probably in a bad spot anyways.

I think Aerodactyl has good stats, the ability is a nice bonus thst can help to slow down the opponent but often times does nothing. If you get Aerodactyl early it can totally slow down your opponent. If a staryu wants to evolve it retreats for either 1 energy or x speed which is already a win, but then starmie can’t even attack this turn and could get sucked in next turn by sabrina and getting attacked first

aerodactyl doesn't really affect mewtwo + gardevoir because ralts is typically evolved on the bench and not the active spot while mewtwo ex tanks damage until it can nuke you, but it definitely changes the meta a bit

Pikachu doesn’t need to evolve, Mewtwo evolves on the bench, Zard evolves on the bench. Aerodactyl EX doesn’t do much

its active pokemon, and its a stage 1 so if u dont have your fossil turn 1, its already hard to make it worth that much and even then most good pokemon evolve on the bench with a solid front

I have no idea why everyone is over reacting about arodactyl ex it seems bad, the way i see it it mostly affects stage 1 turbo pokemon that you want to attack with (like Exeggutor ex or Marowack ex) and the trapping concept seems to slow because it would be better to use starmie as an attacker to knock out the pokemon you gust up with your stage 2 abilities that take at least 3 turns to get online and most basic evolving pokemon have 1 retreat cost plus with leaf in the format the trapping is not as valid on the stage ones due to it only being good into fast stage 1 pokemon and the most niche use into charmeleon. at best this is a 1 up in fighting and a tech option for wigglytuff ex this card will have nearly no impact on the format becouse by the same turn you can get this out you could be attacking with a starmie ex or an articuno ex and just outpace your opponent instead of stalling a turn or 2 at most not to mention an arodactyl ex requires a fossil to put into play it is not only harder to find but means that to get it out consistantly you would need to get a 2-2 line witch is 20% of your deck that does absolutly nothing into pikachu ex unless you play fighting energy into a deck losing so much consistancy to pull it off or to risk not pulling it off in the odd chance it would matter at all. this card is all hype but probably will see no significant play after the first five days of people trying to make it work unless stage 1 ex pokemon become the meta

The stats are good enough to be played, basically the same as marowak EX and cubone does 0 dmg and is kinda meh when you draw it into your starting hand as only basic. Meanwhile fossils allow for different deck building
