This is the closest thing to a competitive mode that this game has. This is a free game, you don't NEED the emblem. Tbh, if by the last day the competition is only people who have been struggling the entire event then the emblem would mean less because someone could just wait until the last day and sweep with their Gyarados Greninja deck ezpz, or someone who won their 5 day one would have had a harder time than someone who won their 5 on the last day

Its a simple fix. Level cap on the beginner mode. You can't enter the event after you have completed it. And no thank you on the sbmm ruined other games and this will be the same. Im not 100% how you can fox the problem of meta decks vs trying something out without another mode with set rules

Th main reason for 5 in a row is to test out how ranked mode would be received. With all this complaining, people will whine when falling in the ranks.

If you stop everyone from playing the event after their 5 wins then you still expect that not everyone will be able to get the emblem you may even make queuing for a match worse due to actively lowering the amount of players. There should not be a concern for new players and levels or even the game being pay to win as it is a TCG if you go to a LGS you don't expect all the best players to not join the tournament or not play against the new players why would you expect it now just due to the game being in a mobile format.

I don’t think the 5 games in a row is too bad as I usually get 5 games in a row before I hit 50 wins. I don’t like the event because its not fun. Winning 5 games in a row is not fun. Winning 45 games is fun with new cards. When I get 5 wins in a row, I queue up 10 times and concede. So someone else only has to win 4 times in a row ~

idk man I won my first 5 consecutive matches in that mode with m2 gard. it was pretty easy.

If you dont like the event, dont play in it

Why are people mad? The 5 win streak is the only remotely challenging thing in the entire game? Even if it was 100% coin flips, at least I get to feel SOMETHING and feel like there's something to work toward. Do all these babies just hate being challenged?

Even with 1000 cards collected, I only finished that stupid event because I had generous people conceding the game to me. My advice for anyone in the future trying to do the event is to take out all your emblems, sometimes opponents will concede or not try as hard if they see you have nothing yet.

I'm a new player and a F2P player... and still manage to build a lot of decks (even the highest "meta" decks). For those who complain about not being able to build a deck in time for the event I say STFU and start playing the game! Anyone crying about that while being a "hour or so" player should just STFU and move on with their life

I played over 300 battles in the event after i got the emblem. I did not win a single match afterwards, because I just auto conceded

Once I won the 5 wins in a row last event, I'd join matches and concede immediately to try and help others🤷🏻‍♂️

I got 45 wins really easy with a scolipede weezing deck. F2P is very much doable for even a new player.

I’ve always disagreed with the sentiment that pocket tcg is pay to win Real pay to win games will have resources that are ether unrealistically obtainable, or completely impossible to obtain without shelling out some money In tcg pocket, you only need time and luck to gain all of the relevant resources needed to be competitive. I think there’s a disconnect, because tcg pocket is mostly seen as a casual game, so there’s an expectation of everything being fair and completable by anyone, but there’s no shaking the fact that the battles are inherently competitive, and if your a new play with few resources, you don’t necessarily reserve any right to that emblem or trophy I’m bias, as I’ve been playing sense day one, so I have all the resources I need to build cracked decks and trounce players who haven’t had the time to collect over 1400 cards, but honestly, I think anyone who plays for long enough will eventually have enough resources to play at a competitive level, you don’t need the newest meta cards to have a great deck

If youre F2P, play scolipede if you have 1 copy of mew. If not then play blaine. Scolipede is absolutely insane though it takes a good amount of skills to use, you'd need to pull off insane plays. I've been winning 80% of my games with it.

the level up rewards are super unrewarding, needs to be more ways of obtaining stuff to unlock new packs or whatever cause as you mentioned the economy of the games items and all is actually miserable.

Personally, I’m going to hop in the event and get my five wins then continuously hop in to concede matches so other people can more easily get theirs.

I got the 5 win streak pretty easily, but itself not like good RNG wasn't a factor. I don't view the game as pay to win. At least for now. Once you can buy heads on coin flips or if you pay for a card to do more damage than what the card normally says, then there's definitely a problem with pay to win here. However, ad it stands you can go fully free. I see where the game just feels unfair for those who join later. That is where I see issues. You might have to pay up money just to compete on a casual level.

You're not entitled to emblems, let people have something to go after I wish there were more emblems for higher win rates, I'm f2p & have maxed out every within the 1st day or 2

After I get my 5 consecutive wins I still play then concede ASAP to atleast give a 1 win to my opponent for sometimes.

I'm not trying to defend the game, but sadly that's the truth about Freemium/F2P games with pvp features. Like in Master Duel, despite my account is on platinum 2 at the last Duelist Cup, but when I hit around Dlv 18, I always paired with someone at one (Diamond) or two (Master) rank tier above mine. What I want to say is no matter the deck you play, if you have good track record with it, you'll get paired with someone with better deck and better knowledge of the game, eventually, yes, it isn't fair, but it is what it is.

I managed to get 5 in a row in my first 5 with mewtwo/gardevoir but i recognise i was lucky to get that. Since then, playing random, i doubt I've gotten 5 in a row very often

I dont get the point of conceding to let others have the emblem? What’s the point of an emblem you didn’t earn? If someone did that to me on the 5th battle I’d be annoyed. If you don’t like an event, just don’t play it. Why do you want to display an emblem that represents an event you didn’t enjoy or even hated? Never mind the fact that in a few months barely anyone will care to display these emblems anymore as there will be something new and shiny for people to fill those 3 slots with. Also, being annoyed that your extremely predictable meta deck got countered 1/5 times is literally a skill issue. I built a deck that my opponents didn’t see coming, got my 5 wins and had fun along the way. I should also add that I’m F2P and I’m even hoarding all my hourglasses (I’m at 920+) so even among other F2P players I should have a “disadvantage”, yet it’s just not how it is.

I feel like the community’s general doomsaying is a bit too soon. Aside from the fact I don’t feel 5 wins in a row is as big a deal as some make it out to be, I also firmly believe the event schedule up to bare minimum the start of the next expansion (end of Jan/start of Feb) has been locked in since before the official release back in October. I don’t think we’d see any bold new ideas right away and it’ll likely follow that pattern for a while longer because what they’re doing is at the very least keeping eyes on the game. Experimenting may come later.

I think saying app based card games are pay to win isn't fair at all imo. Physical card games are pay to win if that's the case. In fact at least you can get free packs in the app, whereas you can't with physical card games.

Winning 5 games in a row isn’t that bad. When the event started I lost the first game and then I won 5 straight after that within the first hour.

In response to this video, i say "Skill Issue". We litterally had a fire type wonder pick event in November, where even free to play players could pick up cards like Blaine and Rapidash without opening packs! Blain decks are the best free to play and easiest to build decks, due to their low rarity. They easily stomp all over the Celebi decks dominating the meta!

The game needs alot of reworking. It lacks any reason to play apart from ego, card & coin like is rampent & feels like less about strategy overall...a leaderboard at minimum would be nice but i dont feel copelled to play other than im bored with everything else
