Sony ZV1 fixed lens kills it for me. Particularly at the price. I agree with the "wants" for the new Sony. I agree with all your points on the M50. It seems like Canon is giving up on EF-M, but luckily Sigma has come through. I'm looking for a replacement to my M50 Mark 1. Would like another EF-M, so I don't have to sell my lenses, but idk. May just upgrade to full frame.

Just like you said, you don't need the perfect camera to start making content! We have recorded over 100 episodes shot on our cell phone, even hosting a celebrity over zoom. We watched so many of your videos when we were shopping to upgrade the camera for our show. We ended up getting the Sony ZV-1! You guys make great content! Anytime someone is asking me about cameras I point them to your channel!

Question for anyone reading the comments: how much does it matter to you if a KZbin video that you watch is in 1080 rather than 4K? I personally don’t really care, as so long as the video has good content, I’m more than happy. I also only shoot in 1080 on my ZV-1 since I like keeping file sizes small and render times much shorter - but if people are really set on watching 4K then I guess I’ll have to make the switch. Thanks for any of your insight.

Battery life is very important for me. I am always having to apologize to clients when the battery runs out during zoom calls that last more than 3 hours so would love to see something longer lasting.

Upgraded from the m50 to the m6. Mk ii. Never looked back not once, don't get sucked in m50 because it's cheaper, if you can spend the extra money the m6.mk ii is a way better option, otherwise m50 is fantastic but the m6 blows it away

I love my ZV-1. And I just got the A7iii. So, I'm covered. The ZV-1 has spot on AF and easy to use. The A7iii takes over from there. Although, I am looking at the FX3 sometime in the (near?) future.

Hello you can buy an rx100vii about $1000 Or an a6100 body for about $750 amd pair it with on of the amazingly sharp sigma trio lenses that will cost about $400. This lens is also an excellent low light performer

I agree with just shoot and get started I've had the M50 since it came out but I use mostly my Samsung Note 10 for most if my in office videos. Lighting and audio definitely comes into play. I've only now started using the M50 4k, but turn off the auto focus for instudio vids! Cheers Omar! Keep creating!

I think this rumored camera with these specs does have it's place specifically in the Sony lens ecosystem; however, as someone who is already in the Canon lens ecosystem, if I'm going to buy a $900 Crop sensor camera body, it's going to be the Canon 90D because of non cropped 4K, 1080p120 and the ability to use all the EF lenses that we have tons of available.

I want a pocket camera, if i need to deal with lenses and things is one more problem. The appeal of ZV1 is that is small, pocketeable and simple. Maybe a bigger grip with a bigger battery and a 20mm - 60mm lens could be perfect for a ZV2

The M6 M2 upgrade seems to have hit the checkboxes , in the price range… All my M50 lenses moved with. UsbC powered etc. Any thoughts? I have a Sony ZV-1 and really think it's a great companion for a full frame camera. Small and light, great AF, 4k, decent stabilization, decent built-in microphone, product showcase, and lots of accessories to make it better (cages, Ulanzi wide angle lens, etc.) are really compelling. This new Sony looks like an e-mount version with a larger sensor. What's not to love? $900 is a bargain for all you get.

I have the a6400 but been looking for a smaller camera and this is interesting. I prefer the side flip out screen, the potential to put a better lens in a smaller camera. And I think it has stabilization so that’s a nice pro. I’ve been considering selling my a6400 for the Fuji XS10 or Fuji XE4, but now considering this because I like that it’s the a5100 body size and I can use my Sony lenses.

It will be interesting to see. I vlog mostly with my gopro but a smaller point and shoot would be a nice edition for b roll

Sony all the way for content creation! Super sharp picture, good color, small and easy to use (I have an a5100 and a FDR-AX100 camcorder.) I use both for my KZbin channel with a Feelworld Livepro L1 video switcher.

I used to be a Canon user. I'm glad Sony came along and shook things up. Canon got slow and lazy. And I think the lack of compatibility between EF-M and RF mount is a huge mistake, especially in the long run. I'm now on Team Sony. And I'm glad Sony are taking on the M50.

Wish I could get a new model camera for $900. Here in Australia the original Canon M50 is just under $800 and the mark 2 is around $1,000. I got the original Canon M50 last year just before I heard about the mark 2, the biggest feature I wish it had is clean HDMI, for KZbin creation 1080 is still OK as a lot of people cannot still watch 4K.

I'd definitely consider it at $900. It depends on the details, the sensor tech, IBIS capability, reasonable weather sealing, low light capability etc. I'd really rather wait for the Sony A74, but I don't know if it comes out in time. As for the colors - if you look at the A7C, Sony really fixed their "color science".

I am mostly a Canonite but I also own Sony and Panasonic. ZV-E10 looks like the camera that I always wanted from Canon. If Canon does not announce a comparable M-mount camera then I will most likely buy the Sony but I would much prefer a Canon version. I do not think it will replace the M50 or the G7x because of the price but it is a threat to the M6 II.

900$ is pretty cheap if I lived in the USA. But in here I have to multiply it by 4. So I will have to pay up to 4000. I have Sony a6300 now as my main camera with some lenses and it costed more than 5 000 for me.

I'm honestly super confused on why the canon m6 mk.ii is always over looked. It's a m50 on steroids with fully functional 4k in 30 and 24fps, and with duel pixel auto focus. WITH A 32MP camera, it slaps sonys 24mp.

i bought the zv-1 used for $450. I don't think it's great for vlogging because it's not wide enough but it fits my needs of filming my travelling trips. I do not think it's worth $700 plus tax. If you can get it used for under $600, I think it's worth it. I hope the new ZV E mount camera has at least 10 bit 4K60p. If it does, I will buy it.

To think a camera that is twice the price will be a "Killer" is just stupid. (I'm smelling click bait) Sure, it's a good camera, but it's in a different category to be very honest. Since the M50 is seen as the best "Starter" camera... price is a HUGE consideration. So... if the new sony was $50... sure... if it was $100... maybe. But several hundred over the M50... that puts it in a different class.

Ya but the ef-m mount is kinda wack. Hardly any choices and none of them cheap. Especially when compared to the NEX/FE mount. I think what people forget too, is that the zv1 has a zeiss sonar lens on it! Does anyone realize how much a Zeiss lens of that caliber would cost if you bought it separately? The zv1 is such a little beast. I mean I also loved the rx100mkv. And the zv1 is just so much better (minus the plastic body and lack of flash)
