Wow! The petrol tank ended up looking like a blob of mercury! Motorbikes are like mechanical watches, where art, engineering and history all meet together. I think that's why I am fascinated by both!
@GT380man10 ай бұрын
Seconded. I like all bikes to be honest including Burgman type motorcycles though I own only classics. I didn’t realise how very fortunate I am that I never sold my late-70s workhorse, my Suzuki GT380B, when I got my car licence in the mid-80s. Instead, I threw a load of old sheets and blankets over it and forgot all about it until 2006, twenty years later. One day I decided to polish up a few alloy pieces & 18 years later it’s nhs main hobby. It’s very special riding a bike that is a physical connection to me as an 18 year old!

Good to see you maintaining that ‘Chrome’ finished tank. When the ban takes effect, it will be worth more than the whole motorbike! Couldn’t understand why you would urinate on the front mudguard after polishing it….oh it’s from a bottle! Very impressive product.

Some Harley riders must be wondering whether to store their bike then. Since chrome features much on them
@GT380man10 ай бұрын
Stuart, your bike is a credit to you! What a fantastic finish is chromium plate. That tank, mudguards & pipe are just lovely. I imagine this hard coat is pretty much an ideal test case for the product. On paint, I think I’ll stay with the very expensive hard wax I bought a decade ago (Harley Wax, with carnuba) because it does such a great job on tanks and side panels on my nearly 50 year old Suzuki GTs. All paints were renewed in the last 15-20 years and still look like I’d just got them back from the painter’s workshop. Ride safe, enjoy & thanks for your judicious use of discernment. We’re in a lot of trouble & all I can say is I’m glad I’m 63 & not 33. Not a future I want for any of us. That’s why I continue to “peddle conspiracy theories” aka use my 40+ year’s professional training & commercial leadership experience to evaluate the l**s we get from government and media types. I need to be able to look myself in the mirror without regrets that I did nothing while lunatics took our world away from us. Cheers Mike

Condensation on the exterior can be dealt with, it's the condensation on the inside that's more worrying. Get a little rechargeable fan to move the air around in the garage and reduce the condensation. I'm a great believer in _high quality_ Ceramic Coating. I did my, then new, bike 4½ years ago and it is still working protecting the paintwork 20,000 miles later. Water still "sheets-off" and the bike still looks incredible and is always commented upon. It has also survived a myriad of bug-guts from summer countryside rides.I shall being re-applying it later this spring after I have completely "detailed" the bike. Have you noticed how much smoother the paintwork/chrome is to the touch?

Thanks mainly to your video's I went on a 4 year search for a classic 500 chrome in America. I gave up a year ago. Then, a week ago, I happened on an ad for one for sale 20 miles from me. I bought it immediately. It turns out it was Roger Slaters' personal bike. It is as new condition and I couldn't believe the improvements and modifications he had done. The bike build was featured in Real Classic magazine. I feel like I won the lottery.

Purchased the ceramic hard coat spray and just finished my bike ( after going back to rewatch rhe video, just to be sure I would do it correctly) . Well pleased with the result and i only used about 1/7th of the bottle. My bike is matt grey and has a wide Matt black stripe on the front mudguard that i never could get a nice finish on and always looked "tarnished". I was amazed at the finish it put on the matt black and the rest looks like someone spent an afternoon on it , rather than the hour it took me including washing.Well pleased and glad its a british product sourced from a local store and not online. Keep up the good work on the channel! Ive been a subscriber for a while and bought a few "Uncle Stuart" recommended products. Never been disappointed. Thanks

I’ve not washed my bikes since moving into our current home early last year, but the water is harder here than I’ve ever known. It made a right mess of the finish on my wife’s dark coloured car. I’m not a huge fan of clever finisher products, using carnuba based wax polishes + rubber & vinyl cleaners. While I love Solvol Autosol on polished aluminium engine cases (which are bare metal on my old bikes), but I don’t use abrasives of any kind on chrome. Even NXL paste which smells like bubblegum is very fine indeed, chrome is always removed. Detailing chrome, I use white spirit to lift anything stuck to the surfaces & leave it bare. So although I’m a sucker & like to have anything that’s really useful, I don’t think I’d displace my Harley Wax for painted surfaces. Nice review from Stuart and had the product been usable on chrome exhausts, I’d have bought some!

Not sure if you mentioned this. The company's Saftey Data Sheet for their snow foam states: "The product may affect the acidity (pH) of water which may have hazardous effects on aquatic organisms. Avoid discharge to the aquatic environment." And for the HD it says "Prevent product from entering drains." We love our clean bikes, but I think we also love clean water systems. These products needs to be used in controlled environments.
