This is what a 240z should be! Good old carb L-series engine up front, JDM parts all throughout, andcraftsmanship throughout. So many times on the Z forums I find people pulling out their precious L-series engines for crude American V8s (great for muscle cars, not for Zs) in the search for power but forget that the L-series engine is what makes the Z so special. Besides, an L-series engine sound heaps better than any chevy 350.

As someone who both owned (several) and raced the 240Z I thought this video was extremely well done. I always wanted to find the 2.0L version but did end up running a 2.4 stock in SCCA ITS class. I knew every single inch of that car. My personal cars were lovingly worked on, and my last one was a restomod with a 5.0L Mustang motor, with intercooled turbo. yeah...when it ran...it was a beast. I think my favorite was the 2.8L Turbo + 5 speed. Broke my heart when it was stolen. When it was recovered, it was trashed. good and bad memories that one. I know I am late to this video but I hope you are still having your love affair with your Zed. She's a beauty!

Working on new breaks, wheel bearings, new shift lever assembly, and choke cabling. Just trying to get it safe and drivable, so i can drive over to my bros house for body primer. I got a ways to go, so baby steps.lol Eventually, I would like an l28 3.0l and triple carbs with a r200 rearend. I'd be happy with that, screw turbos and computer bs, equals more money than Im willing to put into it. If i can get about 300 horses, with good tires, and a good rearend, thats good enough for a streetperformance/weekend driver.

At first I was thinking about 270hp would be fine, then I heard AZGhost623's engine and fully agree with you. 300hp with a 3.0L Stroked L28 would be perfect. I would probably run semi-slicks on the corners to keep the car from being too tail happy out accelerating out of the apex. Also a larger sway bar front and rear before taking it to my favorite driving roads. The sound bouncing off the trees, and induction from the carbs would be an aura symphony!
