It’s the problem of becoming what you hate . This is what happens to everyone who wants to play god . Obito harmed so many people and took away their loved ones just like rin was taken away from him and that’s what makes naruto different . He doesn’t respond to hate with hate . He understands that more hate just makes the world a worse place . Obito could have chosen the same way and worked towards actually trying to fix problems but he let hatred consume him .

18:27 I think Obito was always late because he would stop to help grannies in need along the way. It seems Kakashi was inspired by him, as he was sometimes late for helping grannies as well during the early OG Naruto series, besides going to memorial stone to pay respects to his friends.

Yall keep saying Obito is full of hate. Why? He made it exceedingly clear, that he feels no hate, anger or sadness towards anyone or anything in their world. He just doesnt want a broken world like that to continue existing. He want to replace it with a perfect one, for everyone, and he is willing to do whatever it takes to get it! Rin is not his justification. She was just the catalyst that opened his eyes to the harshness of reality. His justification is global salvation. What he was debating, was just whether or not a false world was worth it, and whether or not he was willing to throw away his true self, and sense of identity to achieve his goal. Also, Sasuke has support from Naruto and those around him. Naruto has support as well. Obito didnt have anyone supporting him when he experienced his moment of despair. Instead he has Madara telling him "Yeah, that what reality is like! Everyone experiences this pain, and it never gets any better. Some dreams just dong come true. There is only 1 solution, and thats the tsukuyomi" And dont get me wrong, everyone Obito did, was still ultimately his choice and reflects HIS OWN personal views. But Madara was able to recognise these dark quality in Obito and knew how to grow them. As Madara said to Obito himself: "I taught you that in order to control people, you need to use the darkness in their hearts. And if there's no darkness, then you just create it"

Ron I think u forget, Even the happy go lucky never give up "Believe it" Naruto gave into revenge and letting Kurama (whom at the time was just known as the 9 Tails DEMON fox and embodiment of pure evil) take over as soon as he saw his loved one perceive as dead after Pain stabbed her. The difference is instead of having a Madara further push him down that dark road, Minato literally had to come and stop him...and Naruto is the Good guy main character. If feel more for characters like Sasuke and to a certain extent Madara because regardless they are born with a direct curse of hatred and steered that route throughout their lives by outside forces. Then just the Uchiha clan in general that's also just cursed. The literally could never be the goodie 2 shoes so many people wanted them to be. And that's outside all the trauma they XP.

Man you gotta go back and watch the flashback where Tobirama told Hiruzen and Danzo that he was staying behind to hold them off. “As of tomorrow Sarutobi, you are the Third Hokage”. Crazy moment considering how young he was at the time and how long he ended up being Hokage. Dealing with Danzo’s bs the whole time too. Always feel people don’t give Lord Third a fair shake

Yeah, they should've established that more. Hiruzen in his younger days was basically known as one of the strongest shinobi to have ever lived. And he basically went toe to toe with the brought back versions of the 1st and 2nd on his old age. I wish they did a filler arc about him.

People always complain about "Talk no jutsu", but this is honestly one of the most appropriate times for it to be used. Its not like he can just use it on any opponent; he always has some connection to the person. Naruto and Obito reflect 2 sides of the same coin. Naruto is realizing that, meanwhile Obito is struggling to deny it. That's the whole reason why Obito lost; his will wavered which is why his god sword shattered (a sword that is literally strengthened by resolve). He still had regrets. Ever since he started fighting Naruto he has been trying to deny their similarity by cutting him down, but that's only further reaffirming his denial. There is a lot of "psychological" warfare for Obito in this arc.

i guess the differentiating factor that made obito the way he is despite having not as bad a past as maybe sasuke for example, was madara. him being reminded of madaras words in that moment with rin that broke him. how he realized how futile this world really is

I always felt like Obito deep down wanted to switch sides and wished that he never chose against Konoha, but felt that it was too late now. But Obito doesn't really have an excuse. Sasuke and Naruto had it way worse, so did f.e. Neji and Gaara against Sunagakure. Obito only lost Rin and he knew why and how she died, and even if he wanted to hate Kakashi, then still the rest of the town could be there for him. He says he wanted to take the darkness away from the world, but that's not for him to decide for everyone else. Like Naruto said, he only did it for himself.

I think one of the reasons why Kakashi wears a mask is because he is bad at showing emotions and doesn't want anyone to be able to read him. And probably Kishimoto just wanted to have a cool ninja-like character :D

Father commited suicide because of the village, lost everyone dear to him, went through traumas. Only Might Gai was there for him until team 7 showed up.

It's really damn simple: Rin is the catalyst, not the reason. Do you know what a catalyst is? A catalyst does not CAUSE something to happen, but it greatly assists that thing in happening, making it much more likely and causing it to speed up in how quickly it happens. Obito wanted to change the Ninja world and get rid of the good-for-nothing world, filled with the harsh reality, in which dreams dont come true, replacing with a new world, where all dreams come true. Obitos entire character represents the theme of "hope vs despair". What he is doing is trying to create a world of hope, to replace the real world which he sees as one of despair. But he wouldnt have been able to even CONSIDER this goal, if he didnt have a moment of despair himself in the real world. If he didnt experience the harshness of reality for himself, then how could he come to this realisation about reality? Rin just served as that experience. Her death, made obitos dream of being with her impossible, meaning there was no hope for that dream anymore, only despair. If rin didnt die and instead something else happened causing him to fall into despair then he would have gone down the same path. But considering how very few people he had that he cared about and that cared about him, as well as how tenacious he was in pursuing his other goals in life, despite setbacks, it would be difficult for Madara to get him to fall into despair using any other menthod. So yes, he didnt start the war because of rin, but he probably wouldnt have started it if she didnt die.

Yes Obito does not have the worst past, but he by far has been manipulated the most (well there's Nagato but I'd still say Obito). I don't see why that's so hard to understand. This anime is a masterpiece, but this part, everyone forgiving him is like... so fake and and slightly bad written like... Obito killed hundred, thousands of people, killed Naruto´s parents, formed the Akatsuki and everything that happened because of that. And then Naruto and Rin forgive him, saying he "tried his best" or something like that is like... wtf. Madara is evil and has done bad things, manipulating Obito, but the fact that Obito agreed to his plan and did eveything with his own hands is undeniable

About the Third, the anime has already shown that his senseis were the First and the Second. He was known as "shinobi god", only the First and the Third had this title in Naruto Shippuden. So in powerleveling and achievements, he is more powerful than the Second and the Fourth. In fact, it is very likely that the Second is the weakest Hokage in history (or second). He is a genius who invented many techniques, but does not have such extraordinary battle feats as the others (for example, he faced Kinkaku and Ginkaku and lost).
