I never knew assists could be done at a competitive level in this game. I saw people use them strategically and unlike MvC2 assist spam you had to be smart with the ones in this game. That’s what I like .

So good. That said, people did also play Akuma a lot. I remember a lot of Wolverine/Akuma teams specifically. You saw some Blackheart or Mephisto play too, but mostly just regular Blackheart with Wolverine. Wolverine was 100% the staple for most people, admittedly. I always loved Shuma, Blackheart and I remember tryingto get Omega Red to work too. Wolverine was really good, if nothing else, at building super with jumping and doing medium punches. So even I fell prey to using him w/ Shuma to build super and use Shuma's level 3 to catch people.

Bison definitely is fun to play in this game. But wolverine is broken. Super jump mash mp all day. He's the best battery. Plus they didn't fix his speed up super in this one as you can still build Meter while it's active, allowing you to charge up even more.

I was surprised when I saw that. The idea that you can build meter by comboing through your entire super and have almost enough meter to go straight back into super seems pretty OP.

You can 100% with it activate it when you take out one guy next one comes cross them up then just mash down fierce they'll get dizzy and you would have got the bar back to repeat

I know people prefer to play xmvsf or mvc1 but i still love mshvsf, It's more fun to play and you don't have to worry so much about infinites. I mean know they're there but not as simple to do. It's more about skill than it is about whoever gets the first hit automatically wins. Also you can't forget about the soundtrack, this game has the best soundtrack out of all the vs games.
