Last week I went to visit my friend Francis Cunningham at his home and studio in Scheffield, Massachusetts. His friend Larry was there with his 1928 Ford to do a little yard work, so I asked him about the car.

What a lovely old truck. Hope it stays just as it is forever. Needs no restoration or polishing, just topped up with water and gas and wiped with an oily rag. A real delight to add to any folk art museum.

I really enjoy as a teenager listening to these kind of elders talking about what they did with these model T and A’s and the crazy things they used to do when they were young. It’s just so satisfying to me

What a fascinating glimpse into history that was. Thanks for that! Oh, and fun fact: My dad has this nearly 7 foot pry bar that was always around when I was growing up. Come to find out, it is the drive shaft out of a Model A. He used it for a pry bar for different things because it is so tough. It has really stood the test of time.

Well you know Jon, you do have a sweet spin on this carzy world we live in, and I really think there is a valuable artistic kindness to the way you share some of the gems in your life, be say your creations or things you come across. I think it's typical of a positive outlook on YT and the way it can nurture mankind, with your own special Jon Peters strylistic spin, which is substantial. I hope to join the trend/process soon, but you're certainly an inspiration. Please don't stop, cause it'll take a bunch of putt putt pushes to get folks like me to join the YT production movement, and we need gentle prodding, if you see what I mean. But the result of lots of people gently sharing their warm outlook on life would/will be something amazing to behold... Keep on trucking y'all !

I learned to drive in a AA doodle bug at my Grandparents place in Selkirk MI when I was 12. I was allowed to drive it alone on the two tracks and even the county dirt road to a little store that had a gas pump. Even passed by a DNR officer who just smiled and waved at me. Definitely not street legal! That was in the early 70s.
