I'm a contractor, and outlets inside cabinets are actually really common these days. Not that type of cabinet in the video, but in cabinets for microwaves. The trend these days is those big fancy microwaves with exhaust hoods mounted above stoves, and then a short cabinet on top of that.
@phydeux2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, my apartment has that, and it royally fucks with anything you'd like to put in the cupboard above the microwave. They could have given the microwave a flat plug, but NOOOOO... it has to be a straight plug with at least 12" more length than you're going to need in a small cupboard so it takes up all the usable space and isn't very flexible.

I recognize the wall paper from the cabinet in the second floor kitchen. It was in the house my parents bought in 1978. It was at least 20 years old then. I also know what the pipes are. They are ceramic sewage pipes. If they redid the pipes to the street, you may have to replace them because they take poorly to nearby trees. They also look like 4 inch pipes which is inadequately small for a house of that size.

I bought my first house, a middle class family home from a family that just had a hard go of it. Father was the only one left and he needed to go into a retirement home. He left most of their stuff in the home and I don't know why but I accepted it saying I would use what I could. It was typical circa 1970's with wood paneling, a 4000 lb added in brick fireplace, laundry randomly stuck in the middle of the kitchen cabinets, smoke stained, office carpeted. I spent 7 years of my life working my day job and coming home to sand walls, install all new electrical so on and so forth lol. I packed a majority of the the stuff he left into the spare bedroom and ignored it for later. Eventually it took long enough and I got depressed enough that I decided to get some help and instead ended up with a wife and a kid. She called it the murder house because of the plastic hanging to keep the sanding dust contained. Lol. Sufficed to say I was lovingly pressured into finishing the project and ended up with a lovely house with some planned upgrades that never got done like windows. Cleaned out everything ended up throwing out quite a bit and moved out. Renting it for more income than I pay on rent and now I'm "homeless" and searching for my next crack house. All the while trying to figure out how to keep my tools safe with nothing more than a closet to my name for storage :D Kids and wife are happy tho so.. win???
