I don't know if this is some kind of inside joke or not, but over the stove I believe is the absolute best place to put a microwave. It has a light on the bottom for added light when cooking, vents on the bottom to suck steam and vapors away from the cooking area, your microwaves hanging from the cabinets instead of taking up space on the countertop or in the pantry

As a trim carpenter I love looking (and judging) the trim in houses. It is what really makes a house come together imho. Also I’d add some shoe molding to the baseboard, it makes it a bit cleaner

What a transformation! Home Renovations are the biggest projects people have no idea how big they can get. My sister and her husband’s house had a ton of demo work done, especially with that disgusting plaster wall and the damn “chicken wire” that held the plaster. Carpet being ripped up, window trim, new kitchen, etc. Outstanding to see this Old Crackhouse finally get a breathe of new life, take pride in it Angry Cops 😎

That ceiling at the foot of the stairs is really something you'll want to keep top of mind. Spray foam is typically closed-cell. It's what you imagine it is--the little bubbles that make foam foam are closed as opposed to being open to adjacent bubbles. That permanently trapped air is what makes it act as good insulation and not wick moisture.

I've installed natural gas water heaters for a living. Look into a Field controls sidewall power ventilator kit. It will allow you to install the vent directly to the outside.

Angry Pops is correct about the tankless water heater in many respects. They require a monthly maintenance instead of a yearly maintenance with the tanked ones. You would also want at least one tankless on each floor at a minimum for practical reasons. Never thought of the double tank water heaters, I may have to look into it.

Every install is different. What works in one may not work in another situation. I always put in double tanks when there is a Jacuzzi.

We put an addition on 2 years ago and had them replace our normal electric hot water heater with one of the tankless. It does not seem to take much longer at all to get hot water. I like it.

I can't believe this is the same house. I can't speak for anyone else, but I would have watched the videos of all the small boring work being done around the house. My father had built and repaired homes for a living, so I always enjoyed watching everything that went into the builds and repairs. House looks amazing, hopefully he can find some decent people to rent to once it's finished.

we've had an on demand from rheem 30 amp for our tiny house for years and its great, the key is not to get some fly by night junk get a dependable well known brand. we never have to worry about pilot lights, leaks, etc., or it blowing through the roof because a valve went bad. yes we had one at our community pool go through the roof after it got really cold.

Spray foam is basically new asbestos. Yeah it does it jobs very good - just like asbestos. But spray foam research already has plenty of research about crazy health issues.

I installed many double heater installations. Generally when there is a Jacuzzi in the house. It’s a must have. The Boss preferred to do a parallel install. I did a Series install in my house just to see how well it would work. 8 people in the house and Never had an issue with hot water!

My parents' house has a stairwell like that, and when I was about 14 or 15, I was running down the stairs and smacked my forehead _right_ into it. The sound echoed through the house, and my parents _immediately_ knew what had happened. 😅 I just stood there, waiting for my brain to finish restarting.
