I’ve got a 150 year old house that needs windows and several updates. Y’all are more than welcome to spend an entire season fixing it up

That house was a mess, a toilet in the kitchen area . How is that even to code. ? Also the replacement trim was put up and not painted first , why ?

There's no way I'm spending that much on a house remodel and not replacing the windows with a more modern and energy efficient unit. The only requirement is that they look original. Most window manufacturers are able to make whatever you want. I should know because I work for one. LOL

Always happy to see millionaires find a use for their discretionary income. And of course, it's always interesting to see the TOH folks go about their business. Skills and technology we don't always see.

Im no millionaire and have done reno on a couple of older homes one was over a hundred years I bought both houses cheap and was able to rebuild and expand to the same cost as a new house and sold for a small profit.

Me too. I'm always amazed by TOH's ability to find folks that can afford these multi million dollar renovations,. just jealous - lol

New zoning codes may make that impossible. I have seen where they leave just one section or wall up and build from there.

I get that this is what they do on this show (at least in recent years) but if you're going to gut something down to that level then I say just rip it down and build something new. If you like the style so much then build something new in that style. But it would be easier and you'd end up with a better end-product if you started over from the ground up. That's especially true when you're making gigantic additions like these people are.

Well that’s a bummer about the window replacement.. a lot of work to make a fake window when you should just do it like they did back in the day. Don’t tell me you can’t… I know you can, they just didn’t want to

@krockpotbroccoli652 жыл бұрын
Its Karen government "safety" nonsense. 1/8" window panes shatter into big shards when broken and big brother doesn't like that, so they have to use 1/4" tempered safety glass on new production windows.
