This OMORI Music Tier List will upset you (Part 1/3)

Hi ! I'm Airneko. You probably subscribed to my channel because "I made a banger using OMORI phobia and Porter Robinson mashup". Anyway.
We're gonna review all songs from the OMORI soundtrack that makes... 179 songs ?! Holy Cow !
So there will be quick ranking for the less interesting songs (I won't talk about the song sorry). And despite that, I still have 1 hour of voice recording ! So each video will be about 30 min.
My Tier List works like a star classification :
S = Perfect (5/5 stars)
A = Excellent
B = Good
C = Not Bad
D = Bad (So that's a 1/5 stars NOT 0/5)
I never made a Tier List, I don't know if it works like that but I decided to do it like this.
So keep in mind this star ranking... like a fine french restaurant!
Forgive me sometimes if I have a bad french accent...
And remember, you don't have to be okay with the whole Tier List. It is certainly an objective opinion but will still be a little bit subjective.

Fun fact about By Your Side: Behind the gentle classical music you can hear an almost droning harmonic sound. It's a digital Theremin, a musical instrument usually associated with ghosts/spooky antics. Think Napstablook from Undertale. Meaning the music reveals Mari's true nature early on.

“Trees...” is super underrated to me. It’s really basic but effective. It’s just pleasant and relaxing, a peaceful song to listen to while you water basil’s abandoned garden.

Ikr, was my first favorite theme when I played the prologue (before Otherworld) back in november 2022. I haven't felt this much peace with a track in months. Always reminds me my first time going trought Basil's garden.

I agree with almost everything in this video! The only thing I would change is WHITE SPACE at B. I think the repetitive, sad, and lonely-sounding melody fits the mood of White Space perfectly.

Thanks for making this incredible video - I really enjoyed seeing your perspective on all the OSTs! I have a few notes: 1. There's more to 046 Woof than being D tier - if you speed it up, you can hear the barking of dogs (hence the title, Woof). This soundtrack plays when fighting the Jackson poster and after beating it you get the CD by Toby Fox, who's mascot is a dog! This is a cool little Easter egg. 2. If you like 060 It Means Everything, then you might like 030 Snow Forest - A Single Flower Blooms because the beginning sounds similar. 3. I thought I was hallucinating but no... I see ya' sneaking SOMETHING in at 10:59 haha 4. Nah, we all know World's End Valentine is the best boss track :)

Wouhou the 1st analysis comment : 1) True, even without speeding up we hear the barking. But as a MUSIC it's still a D 2) Nice one ! I didn't notice. Not only the beginning is the same with this audio chop but the chord progression is very similar ! 030 is in C major alternating F7 - C7 and 060 is in E minor. They are like Day and Night. Major and Minor. 3) Bravo ! You found the first SOMETHING because every time I say the word "SOMETHING" it will appear... And in the next video it will appear more times 👁 4) FOR NOW Capt. Spaceboy remains the best ! But this can change by moving forward in the Tier List. Thanks for this rich comment ! I want more comments like this plz 😹

Wow.. I cant wait for part 2! I’ve listened and rocked to the OST so many times yet there are still tiny things that I didn’t catch like the harpsichord in Trouble-NEVER/ALWAYS that evokes the feeling of anger Space Boyfriend has against Sweetheart, and the use of Mari’s piano and young Aubrey’s bad flute instrument association to bring the feeling of nostalgia! Glad you also loved It Means Everything as much as I did too! By the way, I want to point out that the Trees leitmotif can be heard in a lot of pieces in the soundtrack such as in Forest Frenzy, if that interests you of course. Keep up the good work man!

I always thought that by your side was in F# Lydian. At least that’s what I interpreted from it when I tried to play it by ear, but I might have been wrong.

That's really interesting! But you wanted to say A Lydian because in F# Lydian you don't have A so you can't make the first A chord. However even in A Lydian, you can't make the F# chord because A becomes a A#. Withour this F# it could have worked. This particular chord clearly has modal colors but my ear tells me this music is in C# minor with a major subdominant. Again I don't possess the absolute truth. The question should be put directly to the composers!
