What impresses me the most about this show is how often Lachy says what he thinks a team or player should do and then they do that. It's so insane for a manga to actually keep up with high level volleybal players' reasoning. Also, Lachy, you always say you're proud of us, but I wanna say I'm proud of you! You've been through a lot lately, I can see it in your eyes, and you're still fighting and motivating yourself and those around you. That's powerful and I'm really grateful for knowing your channel and learning so much from you and this beautiful community.

On rewatch, Asahi's freak out at the start of S1 is actually deeper. He didn't quit just because of the feeling of failure from 1 match against Dateko. It was an accumulative feeling of hopelessness for 2 years. And he's already timid and negative to begin with. 17:02 Noya's bad at float serves. This weakness of his hasn't been explicitly given highlight because Karasuno, luckily, didn't run into opponents with float servers in this prefecture until now

Coach Ukai's voice actor Kazunari Tanaka passed away after recording episode 8... So you will hear his last voice line there, which makes it so much more impactful and emotional. I thought to say it beforehand so you have that in mind too, I think it will move you a lot. He was an amazing voice actor who did Ukai and Haikyuu so much justice. May he rest in peace 🏐☁

I understand the older Karasuno players - they came to the school as some of the most talented people in the prefecture and then their dreams got crushed by the team falling appart - would shatter anyone I think. That Kageyama line is so cold. Chills every time. Notice that in the commercial, Ushijima sets the ball into the net and it bounces perfectly to the bottle (he also blinks once as if he is relieved :D ) - This was a teaser of the serve right after which is also a net-in and drops to the perfect spot. Also with Tsukki's new move, we didnt actually see it, they kept that training off-screen. Guy really turned from 0 to a legend in one training camp xD
@dorin4973 ай бұрын
a lot of viewers are quick to criticize those seniors, but it's a normal human reaction I think most of us would feel hopeless like they were.
@TrianaNero3 ай бұрын
8:30 Those players definitely don't have (enough of) a competitive mindset, so I see why you wouldn't like it, and I think you ended up catching it, but yeah, essentially before when the captain spoke about winning Nationals, the others cared so little that they couldn't even be bothered to react in any way. But later they started taking it more seriously and actually setting goals that they wanted to achieve, with solid reasoning. Might be because I am also not a very competitive person, but I understand those people - if I challenge something difficult, I will set realistic goals for myself and then aim higher as I progress.

"You look easy to draw" - Ouch! You didn't miss anything re. Tsukki and Akaashi at training camp! But there's obviously a lot that happens that isn't on page/screen, and this is one of the few times the audience sort of gets surprised by it. (The recent film animated another of those moments as a flashback, and made me so happy.) I'd argue that Tsukki IS a main character this season--we've had so much development, and seen inside his head a lot more than before. Obviously it's a lot more complicated than a set of individual match ups, and they're all growing as characters, but I feel like this match is to Tsukki what the first Seijoh match was to Kageyama, in terms of how much we're seeing them confront their flaws and overcome them.

I know its not the right time to say this but, if you ever hear a change in Coach Ukai's(Young) voice in, I believe episode 8 or 9, it is because the original voice actor for coach Ukai(Young) passed away back in 2016 due to brain Hemorage. Normaly when a voice actor passes or can no longer voice act(in Japan if I'm not mistaken) it could cause problems for the series they are in, either the said VA's charater is removed from the series or worse it could cause the cancellation of a show. This is why there was a big release gap between season 3 and season 4. But there is no need to worry, the one who replaced the original VA of coach Ukai is a good friend and fellow voice actor of his. I'm sorry for this, it's just that I was looking up something about grief then I realized that this was the first time I've experience someone dying IRL in a show I'm heavily invested in and I felt very sad. It was a wierd feeling because we don't know these VA's personaly but, the Chracters the portray and how those character connect with the audience is a fantastical feeling that when you find out that they died or ill you feel like you lose someone important to you. Once again I'm sorry for this very long comment and thank you for always sharing your insights with us the audience and keep up the good work.

Daichi, Suga, and Asahi were the baby crows that started the Karasuno's revival. They remind me of Kageyama and Hinata staying after practice, to practice some more. I've seen this so many times but I still cry when Shizuyasu Yokoyama (the old man) shouted that he's counting on Karasuno. He's been a Karasuno supporter for so long that even Grandpa Ukai remembers him. All the penalties Karasuno had to do during the training camp prepared them for this battle. The sprints on the hill and diving receives helped with their endurance. I feel bad for Kageyama, though. Maybe the mental strain of making precision sets is sapping his energy and now he's messing up? It's so funny to me how Tendou calls Kageyama and Hinata (and Ushijima) monsters when he's a monster as well, lol!

Hi! The reason why the old captain was happy about the others arguing with him was cuz before, whenever he tried to be inspirational, they just roll their eyes and nod like they don't care, but now after seeing all the effort the first years were putting in, those guys are now motivated enough to actually argue back in a way that shows they actually started caring even just a little. Also I'm not particularly sure why you latched onto hating the eyebags second year who was captain when the daichi, suga, and asahi were second years. The only other scene we've seen of him before if I remember correctly was during the ennoshita flashback, and all he did was tell ennoshita to go change if he wanted to play (and not making a big deal out of the fact that ennoshita skipped) and telling Daichi to be stricter. To be fair, he's low energy but he doesn't really put people down or act unfairly mean or anything lol

Lachy's smile for Tsukki 😁🤭 (I don't think I will ever not tease you about Oikawa and Tsukki) Well, it's time for the Moon to shine. The late bloomer of the Crows. The third years really have it hard, thankfully Daichi is always there to guard their back. I forgot who said it probably Ukai, that the third years was there on the worst times for Karasuno. I think the delay spike was first shown done by Kuroo. With Tsukki always with Kuroo, Akaashi and Bokuto, he learned many things from them. Kageyama being jealous with Tsukki having practiced with Akaashi 😂.

really cant fault the 3rds in the first part of the episode too much. i also think the fact that they havent had an actual good coach or teacher to help them also played into their psyche. not everyone and keep taking the negative comments or criticism and just be a bubbly like hinata. im sure if the teacher actually cared or if there was a coach that was there to help that those 3rd years may have not been so negative. i have heard for a different reactor that they were just used to loosing and really fits. instead of trying to break free from those attitudes and try to be better they seem like they have just accepted it.

I don't think you noticed the mistake that was made in this episode. You see Suga comes in as a pinch server and that they get the point when Suga calls the ball out putting Karasuno at set point, but then all of a sudden Kageyama is serving and Suga is shown to be on the bench as if he never came on the court and just served the ball for the go ahead set point. It should have been Suga who served the ball for the set point as well not Kageyama. Yes Kageyama was still on the court to make the set to Hinata to win the set but Suga was the one that should have served the ball. If you don't believe me rewatch the scene at the point that Suga comes in. That was a mistake on the animaters part for mixing up who should have been serving the ball at set point. Also I loved the flashback at the beginning of the episode which showed Suga, Daichi, and Asahi as 1st years. They are so cute and adorable but it is also sad with what happend but it just goes to show that those 3 never gave up and were and still are determined to make it to nationals before their high school years are done.

Since you're a volleyball player i'm sure you'll figure out where it is if you pay attention to the judge but in case you want to be prepared i'm gonna write it below without spoiling. it's not a big deal but I just don't want you confused in case you get the mistranslation (I've seen other reactors get it) . . . . . . . . . SPOILER at one point they explain that a ruling is overturned because the ball touched the line just slightly but it was actually because it had touched a block first
