I loved your ice cream sticks layered with sand paper to get into tricky spots! I will definitely make some of those. Plus the tip of nipping it off as it wears out. Thank you!

Hello Andy, Thank you so much for making the video for me (and others). It is very touching that you took the time for me. I really enjoyed seeing your studio and the way you have set it up to fit your needs. Your pieces of jewelry are terrific! Blue pendant is great, I can see why your wife doesn't want to take it off. I can tell you have learned a lot from designing and building them. It is a great experience and a fulfilling reward for you!! I like the bail on the brass and silver one too. Direct and classic. You have some good inventions. I like the plexi screen shield for buffing. Brasso works well. Your beads are still a mystery to me! Someday I'll learn. I am not sure how you can even work with such a beautiful view out your window. Fabulous!!! Andy, I really appreciate the time and effort that you put into the video. By the time I finished watching, 8 more people had viewed it. Almost 100 views!! Way to go. Thank you very much for sharing and I am looking forward to seeing more of your pieces. Take care, and put the pendant back on your wife. Greg Greenwood PS Your emery sticks and copper tongs are great!! GG

Hi Greg thank you for the kind words. I hope that folks seeing this video will come and have a look at your excellent educational videos. I’m sure that both beginners and professionals can benefit from the hints and tips. They say, ‘You can’t teach an old dog new tricks’. Well, you’ve certainly taught this old dog a bunch of new tricks! You mention the things I’ve made. As an inventor I love coming up with new ways and ideas to do things that solves problems. I love to design on paper first then computer to make processes quicker or easier and then building the machines to go into production. I could bore the pants off you with things I’ve done but the silver work is very satisfying. But, I get side-tracked, I want to add gold to my work, (talk about running before I can walk!!) Gold unfortunately is so fabulously expensive that I can’t risk wrecking too much of it. I’ve been looking at Keum-Boo. I see that folks are working over a 6-inch or 8-inch steel hotplate with full length gauntlets to keep the heat off their arms and stifle their dexterity. So, that distracts me to putting on my inventers hat and setting about to build a very small hot plate about 2 inches by 3 inches it’ll be run off a low voltage power supply. That means I’ll have far less excess radiated heat hitting me as compared to a 6 inch diameter hotplate (> 18 times reduction in area) I haven’t ordered any gold foil yet but will do. It’s all a lot of fun and if it works out well, I’ll share it on KZbin. Thanks again Greg. Regards . . . Andy

Hi Rick lovely to hear from you. I love to make things, anything. I love to think up ides then put the design on paper and maybe a computer and then build it. In the past I've designed and manufactured a lot of special purpose machines for use in scientific and mass production applications for automotive and aerospace industries etc, all precise angles and dimensions so it's quite different to do something curved and free flowing. We couldn't find a house we liked so I spent a year designing and building models and we were able to build a perfect house and we didn't have to make a single change during the build. I've got 72 turns on the coil now and I'm not looking forward to the day when I can't do creative things, use my hands, eyes and brain. I'm seeing so many people have a bad end I want to make every day count. All the very best, keep on having fun!! . . . Andy

What an inspirational video. I came across it while watching Greg Greenwood's very informative and approachable videos (for the first time), which then took me to his website to see his beautiful work as well. Thank you for sharing your studio, processes and designs. What a delight!

Hi, thanks for the feedback. It's always great to hear that someone finds my videos interesting. I've found Greg's videos extremely helpful and I'm usually in contact with Greg once a week. I try to keep him up to speed on what I'm making. I wasn't aware of 'pick soldering' until I saw Greg's video. I wouldn't have been able to make what I make without knowing how to pick solder. Since making this video I've sold over 50% of everything that I have made, must of the rest of my work is waiting to go out to either the Aberystwyth Museum gift shop or to the Aberystwyth Arts Centre gift shop. You can see pretty much everything that I have made on Pinterest. Search for Andydaviesbythesea and then look for handmade jewellery. Thanks again. Kind regards . . . Andy

Wonderful to hear about your pieces going to the Aberystwyth Museum gift shop and Arts Centre. I will look for your other work and for what you create in the future, Andy. Incidentally my ancestors on my Mom's side came from your very beautiful part of the world, a small town called Aberaeron. All the best to you and your lovely art.@@AndyDaviesByTheSea

Thank you. Aberaeron is just 30 minutes down the road from us and it's a place that we like to visit often. I think that it has been voted as the best place to live in Wales. A very pleasant place. All the best . . . Andy @@heididenhartog77

Thank you Mich it's a bit different from other things that I've looked at. I love it when my efforts help others. I made a simple video about how to adjust a very badly designed house door hinge that I struggled with to work out how to adjust. I get lovely feedback from folks that are finding it impossible to sort out the adjustment but thanks to the magic of KZbin I can help them. All the best . . . Andy
