Salinas, Calif., native Josselyn Sanchez is the daughter of a migrant field worker. This weekend, she's dedicating her Sac State diploma to the woman whose dreams made it all possible.

This is so beautiful. I’m the oldest of two immigrant parents but I didn’t finish college I actually dropped out and now at 22 with a 2 year old I regret not finishing.. I see the disappointment in their faces but I didn’t have the money and I didn’t feel ready to go to school but now I am. I’m going back this upcoming year and hopefully finishing this time 🙏🏼 she is setting the example for her future children and I want to do the same for mine. I want my parents to know that everything they sacrificed was worth it.

Made tear up with happiness and the joy knowing that just as her work and sacrifices for school were not in vain, so will mine be. Currently a sophomore in college, working towards my Bachelor's in Speech Communication and Rhetoric. One day, I'll get there. Love, Ike.

When I started Truckdriver for the Oilfields making over 1.2K a week. I took my mom on a Vacation and passed where I work. She said i used to work right across the street in the same fields across where i work. She earned .25 cents an hour and work 14 hours a day when she was only 10.😢😢😢

Tell mama people who look down on field workers are either jealous because they cant work as hard or people with dark spirits. Most of us live by god and we are proud of her, look at her daughter worked hard to accomplish because of mama.

I tip my hat off to those Latinas who never went to college and ended up marrying a good man who makes so much money they don't have to work. What better baby sitter and house sitter can you have than your own wife.
