Pete's one is in very good condition.. I have not seen one of those Hi 8 decks in 10 years.. One of our local church thrift had 3 of them very good working condition as it was described on deck for $75.00 and I didn't jump on it as back then I had no tapes nor camcorder that uses those tapes.. Later in years I found 4-6 tapes in Video 8 and High 8 as I use them as displays.. Nice flip..

Those always bring in good money. I keeping mines as going to restore it and use it for transfer as currently using a Sony C100 with a professional line TBC but bought the evs3000 as has DNR and built TBC which is good for doing transfers. Thankfully have the Sony Alignment tapes and have a good oscilloscope and the jig needed to do a full alignment afterwards. It brand new condition pretty much. Usually I just flip restore and flip them as made serious money off stuff like this. But also a engineer and into this stuff so this one keeping as doubt I every find one as clean again. Shocking found on eBay for $75 as had search results saved and got a email at 5am when seller listed it and bought it right away. Already had 3 watchers and he just had it listed for a few minutes. Every single one going to be parts even if working as all will have have a 100% failure rate due to they use those early SMD capacitors in several modules that will fail due to rubber seal go bad on the early SMD capacitors and from sitting electrolytic leaks out. Plus guides screws come loose and tape path will need alignment and when changing capacitor will need calibration afterwards to work to 100% This is one you have to get restored to get high dollar of $500 and up as otherwise you likely face a return claim when capacitors fail usually within a week, or as soon as someone tries to use it and they reform and pressure cause capacitors to leak out and can damage traces on board . I paid $75 and literally like new condition as wasn’t used much and not a single mark on it when I received it. The ones on eBay are usually a joke as most sell high hour part units beat up ones for over $200 plus. I got lucky on that one as waited as wanted one, but had to be a clean one.

It would be awesome to know how much you bought it for to see the actual margins. Amazing item though!
