There's a group ride I do. It's an 8 mile lollipop with the last three miles being the lollipop portion. We do four laps at an average of 21-23, double pace line, about 40 riders. When we make the left to begin that last 3 mile loop, the attack happens. I stay with the fastest guys as long as I can, never being able to make it all the way around, but I always try. I know I won't win that sprint ever, but it's about having the heart to ride till your legs break and improving your best effort. I'm sure you can relate.

A second kick only really works if you're a superior sprinter like Jeff. It tends to work a little better on uphill sprints in which the sprints tend to take more time to unfold. Great move by Dave -- it was really a winning move if Jeff hadn't been there or if there had been a tailwind like normal.

I've asked several times but have never received an answer. It was another commentator who said the race is neutralised when, say, someone whose car is parked on the right wants to get in their car and leave. Obviously the interruption would change the dynamics of a race, but the footage is cool, nonetheless.
@NorCalCycling3 жыл бұрын
sorry guys, this has just been asked and answered so many times. It's technically on open roads, but it's a very quiet business park mid-day with almost no traffic, this race has been going on for years, the community knows our schedule, we have a mutual respect in the neighborhood, and any potential issue with traffic results in a race neutralization and restart.
