For kitchen and bath, always cotton because it holds up and absorbs water. Plus it washes up so well and lasts forever! Thanks for the links!

For kitchen and bath items, I do prefer cotton. For kitchen: because it's safer. I agree, we need to consider water and heat when choosing cotton or acrylic. I really appreciate your safety advice. Thank you very much, Sara, for the Kitchen and Bath Crochet Patterns. Beautiful! Have a nice afternoon. 🙏🌷✨

Hello Sara! I prefer cotton in the kitchen and bath unless it is for decorative purposes. I have used "rug yarn" for kitchen scrubbies however just because of the abrasiveness of it. Keep crocheting yarny friend 💜💜💜

I definitely use cotton for kitchen and bath items. I also prefer cotton for bags and purses. I live in Arizona, so I love a cotton, cotton blend, bamboo or bamboo blend for warm-weather wearables. I use acrylic for blankets, cold-weather wearables and decorative items. I rarely use wool, as I am allergic to most of them.
@kellynalley783211 ай бұрын
I prefer cotton for kitchen items and coasters. I like a squishy textured pattern for my dishcloths and towels. I like to use non-mercerized as well because it absorbs better. The problem I find with cotton for kitchen is that it is hard to find fun vibrant colors because cotton doesn’t take dye as well as acrylic. Wool does wick away moisture for coasters, so I do use wool for coasters and since it is a hair fiber, you can use it for hot pads since it won’t melt.

Happy Wednesday Sara, no doubt about it, i LOVE working with cotton, for clothes, towels, mats & headbands too... as for acrylic, I like working with #3 weight...You mentioned stinky, just add a little vinegar to you wash & it will remove any smell, it also is good to use in your dark color wash . Have a good day..

For kitchen and bath, it's always cotton! Even if it's a decorative item in the kitchen, I still use cotton. You never know if someone will pick it up to use for something hot, better safe than sorry. That's a good point regarding coasters. Have a wonderful blessed day 🙏🏻🤗

Hey Sara! 😊. I usually gravitate towards cotton for things in the kitchen or if a pattern calls for it. I would be afraid acrylic would melt if I used it for the kitchen. I'm still pretty new at making dish cloths and hot pads, but I just use common sense.

Cotton all the way for anything in the kitchen and bath ,,, I have learned over time that when I’m done using my dishrag is to thoroughly run COLD water on it , rinse all the soap out and then let it air dry ,,, it does not stink afterwards. Just a little FYI Thank You Sara for all that you do 🌸

They're my extended "family"❤. I love watching you on Tuesdays, and on your other utube. You have the most wonderful smile. It depends on what I'm making. I've never really worked with a cotton yarn, but it would make sense to use that as a dishcloth. But the acrylic one thing I don't like about it. Once you wash it and putt in the dryer. Even on a low heat, it gets kind of hard and uncomfortable and loses its softness

I mostly like working with acrylic since I can wash and dry in a washer easily (and I have 3 kids + 1 on the way) and we have to go to the laundromat. So convenience is key for me at the moment. But, as everyone else in the comments, cotton for kitchen/bath. I just worry about shrinkage and warping with cotton. Is this a big issue for those who have more experience with cotton?? And can anyone recommend a cotton yarn that doesn’t split so easily? I’ve mostly used the Peaches N Cream brand.
