COFFEE! Read alouds. Eclectic. Modern literature. Homeschool all over. Get dressed in real clothes. Colored pencils (don't like crayons, too messy and waxy). Not a morning person OR a night owl-- I think I'm a "noon" person! Screens, for sure. Homeschool year round. Games instead of puzzles. I, too, stay away from anything with labs (I don't enjoy the mess and the cleanup and it feels like so much prep for a minute or two of "oh, cool" and it doesn't feel worth it to me) and won't be dissecting/mummifying anything! BTW, I'm former military and I used to be at Ft. Meade and I'm now at Ft. Gordon, and it's interesting seeing you talk about both places since I know EXACTLY what you're referring to! :)

I’m a Veteran, too and my first duty assignment was Ft Gordon ❤️

@@storybookschoolhouse That's awesome! It was my first permanent duty station, too... and now I'm back! Haha. Yay, veteran homeschooling moms!

I love all of your choices! and that is so fun! Which area do you prefer? We were at fort polk before gordon and I got to say gordon and Meade are leagues a head of polk. haha.

@Secular Schoolhouse That is awesome, I definitely miss things from that area!

@@LoveLearningEveryday truly, I much prefer the Ft. Meade area for political/social reasons. But I now have a custody agreement in GA since my divorce, so I'm stuck here for at least another decade. As a result, I'm trying to make the best of it!

We’re a military family too! Homeschooling just makes sense with the profession🤷🏻♀️😆

Yes, completely agree! I can't even imagine our lives if my kids went to public school. We definitely wouldn't be as close.

Board games are really educational. So much critical thinking and strategy in them.

Yeah totally! I more meant games that are specifically focused on memorizing math facts or something that I typically see homeschoolers have.

Loved the video! I also love games. Where ever I can fit them in, I play games with my almost 12 year old. It is the BEST!!!❤️
