I am from the south western part of Canada. I caught on your videos a few months ago and have encourage me to buy a orchid plan and hope to have it alive for a long time. Your channel has a lot of suggestions of which seems to be very successful. For someone new, which method would you suggest? The method from this video, clover, lemon or lime peal, garlic, onion, etc? Should I re-pot the orchid I got with proper stuff. I think you use pine bar or dry pumice stone. Not sure what type of moss you cover that with. I also noticed that other than the port to capture all the water from the plan pot is plastic. Everything else is glass. Is there a reason or just what you have around. Thanks, keep up the good work.

We purchased a small orchid during the holiday season. Upon inspecting it once at home, it had mold at the root stems. We reported, after trimming, using your cinnamon technique, it has been 3 weeks and still seems weak. There are some black spots on the roots and it looks generally weak. What is our next step? : Thank you for sharing the condition of your orchid! Your plant is still in the process of recovery, and sometimes it takes a while for the plant to fully bounce back after mold or rot. The black spots on the roots could be a sign of fungal infection or root rot. If you’ve used cinnamon and the plant hasn't improved, you could try using garlic water, as garlic has natural antibacterial properties and can help with fungal issues. You can dilute the garlic water (1-2 crushed garlic cloves in 1 liter of water) and water the roots with it, then place the orchid in a spot with indirect light and stable humidity. Make sure not to overwater and place the plant in a well-ventilated area to aid in its recovery.

Quando suas orquídeas apresentam manchas pretas nas folhas, geralmente é devido a fungos ou mofo. Para recuperá-las, siga estas etapas: Corte as folhas afetadas: Use uma tesoura limpa e desinfetada para cortar as folhas doentes. Trate com um fungicida: Você pode usar um fungicida comercial ou fazer uma solução caseira com alho, vinagre ou bicarbonato de sódio diluído em água. Mantenha a planta seca: Evite deixar água acumulada nas folhas ou nas raízes, pois a umidade excessiva favorece o crescimento de fungos. Garanta boa luz e ventilação: Coloque a planta em um local com luz natural adequada e boa circulação de ar para acelerar a recuperação. Se a planta estiver perdendo folhas, verifique as raízes. Yo personalmente soy partidario de que una vez que ha acabado la floracion cortar las varas florales desde la base y que salgan varas nuevas. Si hacemnos lo de este video creo que existe el peligro de agotar la orquidea y que le cueste mucho recuperarse para una nueva floracion.

I previously did the same thing as you. But then last year I decided not to cut the stem to the base after flowering. I started to look for notch that hasn’t had flowers on that stem. ( advise from Orchid experts) I cut above the notch and continue to feed and water as usually. Then a new branch emerged from that notch and more flowers. It really do work. Although, I don’t get 100% success rate and you need to be patience. Sometimes while I’m waiting for a new branch, a new stem appears so to avoid wasting plant energy , I cut to the base.
