I’ve always lived with St. Augustine (in Texas) and I’ve never seen it so out of control. Here it’s easy to control and most of the time, beautiful.

Goats would have loved that grass. there is a lady here that brings her goats to your house if you have a fenced in yard. she comes back and picks them up when the grass is gone. Loved your work great job. God bless.

I have had lawns either whole or partly St. Augustine but have never seen it bolt up like that! I think I would consider hiring some goats.

Great work. Pro Tip - look into learning how to use a scythe. Seriously. Folks think they must be antiquated technology simply because they're old and we have stuff with motors on it now, but they are far far faster and easier to use than the motorized string trimmers.. especially in tall grass like you've got going on there. It's one of those weird things because you'd think folks would jump on the scythes since they're so much faster and more economical, but most don't even think about the tool. Thankfully, there's something of a Renaissance of Scything going on right now and you can find tons of online resources to help you - including classes and companies making brand new blades and handles. This is one of my favorite videos here on YT because it shows just how fast and easy using a scythe can be - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mnvKZJ-AfbSMfq8 Pay attention to just how much square footage he gets cut in only 8 minutes. Eight minutes! He's not breaking a sweat. He's not got a two-stroke engine screaming in his ear. Instead, it's nothing but bird song as the tall grass is piled neatly to the side where he can easily rake it up. From a business perspective, it can take you some time to get the feel for using a scythe. The modern string trimmers are dummy-proof, just plug-n-play, but the scythe requires a bit of practice because it's an unfamiliar body movement. That said, it's also a fantastic sales tool because you can market yourself as "the quiet guy" and work at 6am when folks are still sleeping. We all know the air-pollution caused by hordes of motors running on the weekend, so offering a silent solution really attracts customers. For small lots, you'll find no tool that's better suited than the scythe, and it will save you gobs of money every year because there's no fuel, oil, hoses, belts or anything else to deal with. As long as you take reasonable care of it, you're grandchildren will be using the same blade and handle that you used. How's that for a sales pitch? Environmentally-awesome, economical, light and nimble, and it saves you both time and money!! What's not to love!?!? 😃😃

Ah, the scythe. We used one at my Gramps camp whenever we visited since it was only used part of the year. First visit in summer was crazy tall grass so out came the scythe to knock it all down. 😊

What is the deal with that raised part? It’s bad enough that the grass is overgrown, but you also had to deal with different yard levels! I kept wondering why it was so bumpy on the raised section. I guess the grass was so thick and high that is made it seem like it was extremely uneven. Anyhoo, you did a marvelous job and I’m sure the owners and everyone watching this video thank you. I know I do!

Didn't you do this yard last year or the year before. It was because you haven't run those circle blades on the whipper snippers for over a year

I really missed the showing of before and after pics. Like the length of video, but it cut off, before we saw the results. Thats not you Tim, you are better then that, you are very meticulous on your clean ups and showing your results. I believe this yard had been done before in your videos. Is this a rerun or did these people just let it go to ask you to do it again? God Bless! USAF

The Guy in the brown pants had poor technique with the trimmer. He didn't keep the head level like a manual scythe in a left to right sweeping motion starting at the top and working his way down. Also get plastic large leaf hand rake paddles. so much easier to pick up leaves and grass. The guy in the brown pants tried to bog down his mower in a back and forth motion in high grass, instead of tilting the front of the deck up by pushing the handle down in a short forward motion and then pancake the front of the mower downward pulling the mower back toward him in a reward motion.

Why do these lawns get so ridiculously long? Is it because they are vacated homes or something? Surely people don’t live there?
@mufasah888
@mufasah888 Жыл бұрын
Most times someone lives there. Many reasons why it happens. Could be the owner has a medical problem so can't mow it, an elderly homeowner, busy taking care of a sick family member, etc. I have only seen a few videos where the owner was just a lazy a.. and didn't mow because they just didn't care. But, yes, some houses are vacant and abandoned. My yard is usually pristine, but one year I was injured and struggled to take care of my yard. I couldn't afford to hire someone so my yard looked atrocious that year. It happens. Not everyone can afford to hire a professional or have family nearby that can help. Life happens. 🤷‍♀️
