Maximum Creep to Grandmaster, should be a new challenge series. It might teach you to spread creep better, giving you muscle memory for it. I think it would also make you look at the game in a different way and open up new cheese options in general.

I agree it might be kinda boring by itself. But it would make thermy way better at Zerg. He’s playing one handed at this point, and look at what he can already do! Imagine if this aesthetic distaste didn’t hold him back. I’d happily accept a maximum creep series, if only for the fact that it would improve every subsequent (particularly Zerg) series. I mean we’ve literally seen thermy spine crawler rush in a video once, think to himself out loud “nah I’m not gonna place down a creep tumor” and then lose because he tried to uproot and reburrow the spines but there wasn’t enough creep lmao. It has cost him directly like this and indirectly many times. It’s a huge hole in his gameplay ngl

Hydra speed is far more important than the range upgrade. You should build speed first. This is coming from the recent Harstem video where Reynor coached him on Zerg, but it also just makes sense. Speed makes up for lower range by allowing you to get in range faster while also giving you the benefit of better positioning and faster re-enforcing across the map.

Hey uThermal, can you try using an overlord to drop creep somewhere on the map to make a tech building (spire, hydra/lurker den, ultras, etc)? That way when they scout you, they'll have no idea what you're cheesing with.

Thanks for the build :D I suck at reading and defending against mass BC and Carrier. With this I can deal some damage early on and throw terran/protoss off their usual build :D Just 16 lings rush the Terran, got single BCed which I manage to defend with minimal damage. Followed by 16 hydra drop :D at this point he all in with 4 BC, pulled all my drones and queen and mass hydra in base. Successfully defended and cleared off all his building. Now to use it against Protoss.

I dont think the ling drop did that much, but it caused psychic damage to confuse him. Having a wall is good, but you need something to kill the things attacking the wall, but otherwise the games seemed really good!

Rush +1/0 hydras and deny the third or shove the natural. Very effective up to 4600 mmr and after that you ought to squeeze in a overseer scout to see what they are teching or massing. If you really want to shove the hydras you can make 2 overseers at the start of lair and use both to goop up their colossi factory while you are smashing their base... 1 colossi can not defend this.

Droning, when you plan on only spending minerals doesn't make sense, 2 per node is optimal, which is 14... add two and can do a quick hatch and pool.. Either or first. Pool first into hatch... but you can go hatch into pool to get a delayed queen or no queen into ling to get useful units and maybe cathc your opponenets natural going up. As for your question. If your verse mutas incoming, and you can only make one choice its always armor, since the bounce/glaive attack, will get reduced 3 times. as it bounces around... typicalyl ends up at 6/1/1 or something or 7/1/1 depending on how high the armor value is... but if its ling verse ling, always attack. If your muta, its always air attack.. . mutats are super deadly, if you can get level 3 attack, as fast as possible, and hten pump out mutas, they will hit hard...

Hydras are surprisingly strong since the last patch, they micro like marines with a permanent half stim once they have speed, especially on creep, I'm surprised I haven't seen them used a lot more. If your micro is good enough you can also use droppers for hot pickup like a medivac.

you can do the small ling drop into range hydra> block his entrance and kill his nearest buidling with range while very fast lurker adn eventually some lurker drops. It's somehow some old school broodwar rush lmao

I suggest you a new challange. You play zerg, you play any strategy you like, but you can finish the game only when at least half of the map is covered by your creep :D. If you think your attack can finish the opponent off, then you spread creep and wait for the final attack :D
