Well done Paddy! I have lived on and off in Chiang Mai since 2016 and love it here. Your videos have inspired me to to wander longer on my Honda Forza 300 and just enjoy getting there as much as the destinations. These backroads which I have travelled around Chiang Mai really give a sense of zen when driving on a beautiful day.. I really loved chiang dao last year!! We will definitely come back. My 3 year old daughter also loved it, especially the Thursday market. Nice food en other kids to play with❤

I'm in Chiang Mai rn, just did two weeks on a trail bike Mae Hong Son loop.. flight scheduled for tomorrow morning and now I want to cancel and stay another week to do northern Chiang Rai!!!

Love this part of thailand. 2 years ago we did a loop north up to Doi Pha Hom Pok National park and then went east along the border with Myanmar. One of the nicest trips I've ever done.

We have camped at Pha Hom Pok twice and did the early morning hike up the mountain in the dark both times. That forrest is amazing but it sure gets cold at night.

A slip and fall like that happened to me in Chumphon. Night time. Sitting on a marble-like porch of a bungalow soaked by a heavy rainfall. Really getting into the power of the storm. Got up and took one step in bare feet and became airborne, flying from the porch onto the stairs. Popped my right knee on the slip and jammed my left shoulder to break the fall. So, I've been there -- done that, too. Wishing you a quick recovery. It could have been worse; however, the big toe takes on a lot of body weight in the step -- A painful nuisance when on the move. Nothing a Brit can't handle. Take care and be well .... dcb.

That cafe is called Si Ri Meung Praow. Meung means in the town/city so in the town of Praow. Siri means elegant, sacred, beautiful, etc (from Pali).

I think the Mae Hong Son loop is a bit overrated. The road on the last portion of this video looks amazing. It kind of reminds me of the roads in Nan province

Akha Farmville is nice in the morning on a weekday. Those dogs are amazing and yes they are a sheepdog mix and the trainer called them strong eye which you can lookup if your interested. We just got back from Chiang Dao, Doi Angkhang and Doi Inthanon, enjoying the amazing mountain roads and taking pictures of the Cherry Blossoms. Chiang Rai is a great place to live.

A lot of us wish it would make you speechless. You use "we". That is 1st person plural but you appear to be alone on your trip. Shouldn't it be "I" first person singular?
