I'm here in Rural NorCal in the coastal mountains so far 4 1/2 inches rain in less than 24 hours and 55mph wind gusts. I'm surrounded by 200ft Douglas firs and they were dancing and singing (always a little scary). The wind was shaking our house and a few times our stove pipe back drafted! Reason number 23 why a good wood stove with a strong door is worth it's weight in gold. Winter stormy weather is back again. No more drought. Love it!

That's the way it was here in KS after the week-long freeze earlier this month. Actually it's only taken about a week to partially dry out - at least to the point of being able to walk in the yard without sinking 3 inches lol. But that's what happens when the ground freezes up to 5 inches deep like it did. Doesn't get that deep very often but when it does it makes the thaw really weird. It is nice to get all the streams and creeks running though - I love to watch the little ones flow!

They’ll find a way to say “drought “. I’m in Arizona (native born) and there were zero wildfires due to the rain and snow we had last year. We had rain in May and heavy snow in Northern Az in March but just a couple of weeks ago , they’re saying it the driest on record blah blah. They cherry pick a couple of months with no rain (common) and lump the whole calendar year into being the driest on record. Shenanigans.
