I was so mad when Pearly failed on me too, all part of risk though. GG

(Cecil here) I think you should have removed reds 4, especially once blue was lined up on that position. The kill guard just meant you die before him. It was going to be very hard for blue to lose that. In hindsight it also would have prevented his attempt on you.

@@fostrider agreed, I was banking on him not having a set on 3, again. But owell they always do

So frustrating! :( How will that affect the rest of the tournament? Can you give us an update when you know? Congratz on 600 subs btw!

I should be ok to make the next round because of how well I did the first two rounds, but now I’ll have my work cut out for me. I believe another bottom 3 finish (regardless of bounties) in the next round would probably seal my fate.

@@C_money That is good to hear, i was wondering if you would be on an edge now, needing a win or perfect game perhaps.

What's funny is I'm surprised you didn't try to kill black.

Looking back on it now, I think I maybe had a line, but it probably would've been just as close as red's and I likely just die to red on the very next move. I get 8, trade in is 30, and I think the only reliable way I get to that middle east type area is by taking the 22 (with added troops) through the red portal on the right side, out blue on the bottom left, and then up through yellow, which probably burns 10 troops already. I 'd also need to add to my 13. I wasn't confident I had it since even if I went with a 60 stack or something on my 27 and went straight through to his second position, I'd need to split at least once.

Way the lines were I'm sure red would have just gone for you even if you killed me@@C_money. In order for me to survive the only chance was if you didn't put as many troops in the north and make that 17 more. No turn in on 4 🤷‍♂

Yeah your 22 was in a weird spot. You might have been on to something on the stepping out of the way thing. I think anytime you see someone on 5 at this point, assume someone will try for it.

Red put a little too much up top he almost got the kill. It was close. I think I likely do the same thing red does here tbh.

Yea I think Pearly actually put too much up top on both kill attempts, more so on the 2nd attempt@@heyguysitsmallorie . Oh I don't blame him at all. I wasn't mad at all. Just the way it goes sometimes

Cut yourself some slack! We all make mistakes and the first tournament I ever played I was super nervous every game. I thought you played great all things considered. Good positioning, smart decision making, etc. Just need to work on speed and pathing but those are really easy to practice.

@@C_money Thanks for the seriously kind words, after what must have been an extremely frustrating game! Just finished watching the game from your perspective, was very interesting to see your analysis on this clown fiesta. I wasn't intentionally stalling any of the kills, in case anyone was wondering. At 29:50, I was trying to save the turn timer to calculate kills and pathing -- red was impossible because of yellow's card block, and white's kill was barely possible, but not profitable, same for yellow, etc. Then I tried to use the time to figure out where to position my stack to guard and set up kills for next turn. Looking at your other games on this channel, it's really impressive how fast and easy you make it seem! Also, at 33:20, you got my thought process exactly right, kind of spooky. I had set myself up to kill either you or yellow. Both of you were equally easy to kill (white's stack on the top left didn't matter since I could go through the top right), but I was planning to chain kill yellow, red, you and maybe get white. That was actually relatively easy to path (if you don't count the middle east pathing!) since I had so many extra troops. Pearley got absolutely terrible dice, didn't realize until watching this. I think their attack ordering at 28:55 was objectively a mistake, right? The Galacticons position was by far the most risky and troop expensive to take out of the three, and all three were fast (straight line attacks, no splitting), so no reason to save it for last. Others mentioned the too many extra troops up top already. I only won through ridiculous luck of being fed a free 5 cards and Pearley getting awful dice at 37:00 on yellow, but I would have been way less likely to win after the stacklock disaster if I had weakened yellow's stacks or not had a killguard stack ready. Hope to see you again in future rounds!

Also at 38:15 you read my mind completely again! I think I was trying to kill red first, but then hesitated since I might not have time and white had 3 cards, so pivoted to killing white and ran out of time. Didn't think it would end up mattering since I weakened white down to 7, but I did also panic when white set on 3 immediately after. Turned out white having a set was very good for me. They could have taken a 4th card and fed themselves to red, so I may have even lost.
