The X10 was my first mirrorless camera. What a joy to use! But yesh it's kinda slow for what I liked to do at the time of its hype, which was shoot friendly gatherings in not so bright evening indoor settings. I sold it and now I miss it. The fixed focal length is both a drawback (obviously less focal lengths) and a boon (less focal lengths so you use your feet or make the best of the focal length as it is). My main camera is a Nikon but I really love the Fuji interface. The knob for exposure is just a joy to use.

I absolutely loved my X10. I bought it new and after using the LUMIX LX3 for years before, the X10 was a joy to use. Sometimes I found it a bit frustrating because of its speed , the IQ was not good but to be honest that was probably my fault and not the camera. So I added a Sony RX100 m2 to my pocket which produced better images but was not so nice to use.. it’s more like a mobile, but it’s so small I use it as a back up when I travel light. Then on the journey of small cameras I added a Fuji X100F that is amazing and I still use, a Richoh GR2 that I absolutely loved but has now worn out and awaiting me to rebuild, as it very temperamental, but I can forgive this when it works as it is a monochrome monster and then decided to make the jump to a Leica Q which is another level and deserves the hype. Then got back into film and DSLR with the best lenses I could find used. Anyhoo, Last weekend I saw a X10 in a shop secondhand and was amazed at the price. Thought I need to dig mine out. Luckily I have kept all my cameras on my journey, so the X10 and LX3 will be coming back into use again this weekend to have fun capturing images. Great channel, I have subscribed 🥳

I have the X30, bought it new and it is a wonderful little camera which produces good qualities images and is probably worth more now than I paid for it. I also have an X100T which is another great camera which I bought new at a great price and again is worth more now than I paid for it. Why Fuji discontinued the X30 and never developed a successor is a mystery to me. The build quality of these little cameras is superb, far better than most compact cameras available now. I own a Panasonic TZ200 which is a great camera capable of high quality images with a zoom range from 24 to 360mm and a 1” sensor, its build quality isn’t as good as the Fuji’s though.

Good video. 👍🏼 I bought a new X10 a year or two after it was introduced. Not long afterward my wife got one, also. Great little camera, my first Fuji. Subsequently got an X-T10 and an X70, and my X10 got less use. I decided to sell one of the X10s and put the proceeds toward an X100F, figuring hey, we have a spare. We did some traveling and each time paid a neighborhood kid to come in and feed the pets while we were gone. One day I got an itch to shoot with my little X10…and as most readers have guessed by now, it was gone. So was our dog sitter. It’s doubly depressing, because not only did we lose a camera that held sentimental as well as tangible value, but also we’d known this guy since he was little and trusted him. I’m hoping, and have pretty much convinced myself, that he brought buddies or a girlfriend over to hang out while we were on the road and one of them palmed the camera without his knowledge. Regardless, the moral here is if you find a camera you like, keep an eye on it. And don’t hold your breath waiting for used Fujifilm prices to go down.

I can’t see the prices changing unless film gets cheaper, which I don’t think it ever will. Fujifilm digital cameras have been the most recommended alternative to film and the flood of videos on even the XE1 recently have nudged up those prices too. A friend was recently able to swap his GFX 100S for a Leica M240 and 28mm lens because the Fujifilm medium format cameras have also gone up. The genuinely forgotten cameras are the Panasonic G6 and Sony NEX 6. The G6 has some surprisingly clean shadows in jpeg and a beautiful grip. The tight lines in its plastic construction make it feel like moulded wood. Very sharp displays and great ergos. Solid battery life too. NEX 6 has excellent AF and superb EVF for its time. USB charging makes it a bit more suited travel. Both can be had for less than £200.

Wonderful review, and I agree with you. I went to buy an x10 when they were new. Sadly it was 2013 and they were all sold out and I had to buy an x20 instead! I love the x20 and can highly recommend it, some say it solved the shortcomings of the x10, and certainly I don't think I would have coped with the lack of viewfinder info in the x10, something I find essential in the x20. My only gripe, using FX cameras all the time, is that the x20 tends to blurr some of the details in a shot, but what can you expect with a 12mp 2/3 sensor? Its fantastic to use, intuitive, and built to last. I don't care how much the 2nd hand value increases with the x20 it will not be for sale.

I owned an X10 for about 8 years but finally sold it because of the OVF limitations. When I bought it, I did not realize how often it would be necessary to frame with the screen, not the OVF. There’s no parallax correction for closeup shooting, it only shows 83% of the actual image so tight framing is impossible and at the widest focal length the lens barrel and hood can be seen in the finder. It’s nothing like the finders in 35mm rangefinder cameras I used in the film days. The followup X20 added a heads-up display of shutter speed, aperture and focus point which is a huge improvement. It came out two months after I bought my X10. The followup to the X20 was the X30 which switched to an EVF and tilt screen so actually that’s the most desirable version although it’s a small amount larger. They all share the same lens and 12MP sensor and the IQ at low ISOs really is fantastic. I've made 16x20 prints of my shots and they look great.

Since all the hype started around Fuji the knock on has been increased prices of everything Fuji, which is frustrating for budget conscious consumers. I could have bought this lovely camera for £99 a few years ago, so £240 now feels ridiculous. The x20 similarly is now rare and expensive. As for the x30, it’s way out of price range. And boy oh boy do I now regret selling my XE1&2 !

I bought this just recently from eBay for a little over $400. in “ Mint-in- Box”. condition. Considering it was $800 when it was first released and my camera is practically new, I feel I did alright. It is my first Fujifilm camera. I like it but still am in the “getting used to it” phase. I like the fact that the images are sharp but not over sharp like modern cameras. If you can get one almost brand new, then a higher price is still worth it. How much are you willing to pay to get the shots you WANT? For me, the answer is whatever I can afford!

I gave my like new X30 to a young lady in a 3rd world country and as I knew she would never be able to afford a camera on this level she was a natural with it and she still is a way better photographer than Ill ever be. Do I miss it? Yes but I quickly bought a XE2s with the kit lens and a few manual lenses and I still miss the X30 with its control ring built onto the fixed lens. The X30 also has a slightly larger sensor and quite a few more film simulations. In all fairness at the time I gifted my X30 I was caught up in the high megapixel hype and for a fun filmic camera my X30 was the most fun camera that I have ever owned. Im sure the X10 and X20 are very similar in the fun factor. I always liked the Idea of lomography and this camera had that quirkyness to it and I never once shot it in raw as I wanted to stay with the JPEG film simulations like when I would be happily stuck with whatever pictures were produced with the many different brands and types of films i used in my old Minolta, Pentax and USSR built Zenith 35mm cameras. That was to me the surprise and fun factor of the X30. by the way this was a fun video to watch and thank you for making it.

All true, but the X30 is the one to get. Real EVF. Same excellent lens.

I had an X10. It broke down one night and was going to cost £450 to get it fixed. Great camera.

I owned the X30 and while it was a good travel companion I wouldn't say it was pocketable. The X70 on the other hand is very pocketable but loses the benefits of having a zoom lens.

The hype isnt dying anytime soon fuji had no market share for years so not like a ton of these cameras are available as second hand to drive down prices. The x10 is prone to failure as well so paying $400 is risky at best. For those saying they got it for $100 well I mean that is true it used to go for nothing two years ago got mine at auction for $89 and that was relisted no one wanted it.

sensor size doesn't really matter for an EDC that you'll mainly be shooting during daytime

It's too bad that cameras getting good reviews go through the roof IDK if it's the sellers jacking the price up after seeing a good review or supply and demand of people all looking for the camera at the same time the same thing happened to film cameras you used to get them for almost nothing You are right that the camera is probably a hundred dollar camera

Probably fogging from temperature change... i.e in an air conditioned cafe or car then running outside to the heat.
