I was shot twice last year. One bullet in the chest and one in my arm. I had a 5 hour surgery and the doctors told me I barely made it through. I couldn't walk, couldn't stand, couldn't sit up straight without feeling intense pain. Yet I walked out of the hospital and 3 weeks later I became an Eagle Scout. A month ago I was just accepted into University of Florida with scholarships. When life beats you down you need to keep moving. I feel strongly that I'm alive because I'm meant for big things. I still feel like compelte shit about what happened to me sometimes but it doesn't matter. I am alive and I am breathing.

Very inpiring Rudy, I was one of those complainers. I was a drunk at 18. I was 34 on December 9th, 2011. I went to work like I have for 17 years. Around 9:20 am I was inspecting work a mechanic did on a 10,000 truck on a hoist. A cable snapped and all I knew was there was a loud snap. I ended up with a broken leg and L6 and L7 compression fractures in my back. Im so thankful I'm alive. It's changed my entire life. Been happy and sobor every day since.

it's amazing how we complains about how we suffer with the work or homework, but these people really had suffer and after that they only say that could be worse. we need to change the way we think, we are a society with a realy bad mentality, we think that all the things that happen to us is really a bad thing, but we dont thing about the pearson net to us and se that maybe these person is suffering more than us.

I feel like this poem tells us not to do what we have been fighting to do our entire lives. Yes, people have it worse, but your struggles are not invalid. Maybe you need someone to tell you to look for a new job or a new life style. Someone to tell us that it's alright to feel that way and motivate us to try and make a change for the better. Those stories at the beginning are from people who knew how to live life and were able to say that everything up to that point was worth it and they still survive to try again. Your struggles may be strong but do not let them cripple yo,. The poem was right in that aspect. Let your struggles, no matter how small, be the motivation to carry onand live your life the way you want to.
