Still an insane thing to play on the channel tho

Unironically I've been playing this for the last past days. Despite it being a blatant hentai game, the core pokemon mechanics aren't just solid, but also streamlines a lot of the padding and artificial difficulty that has been ingrained in the Pokemon series for decades. Unironically the game that Gamefreak is too scared or lazy to do. To put some highlights: - Trainer battles aren't forced as soon as you make eye contact - Each patch of grass tell you exactly the kind of creatures it has, and those you haven't caught yet - Star Disks just allow you to capture the little critters by using it and then knocking them out. Completely eliminates the frustration of rng when trying to capture something. - Your whole team gets exp evenly, and you even get pocket exp to use on other weaker team members to bring them up to par with the rest - Moves can be swapped around any time, instead of relying on a move tutor by the end game as most pokemon games are - You can swap your team around anywhere as well, you don't have to get to a pokemon center - You get the Fly equivalent in like 15 minutes of playtime instead of hours and hours into the game

Okay I know hating on Gamefreak and pokemon for being lazy is the cool thing to do now and all but S/V does literally all of this except for the just use and capture mechanic lmao. Criticize the PKMN company all you want for actual valid reasons, like the latest games being a buggy and unoptimized mess, but the points you made aren't quite it lol. Latest development news I got from official Pokemon games stopped for me after Sword and Shield, and that was a pretty bad look already to lose my faith in them. So you will have to excuse my skewed point of view for not giving a chance to the newest development when I noticed that, in the surface, they have not learned their lesson

@@kairhys124 I think my previous message didn't got sent, but if it appears twice I'm sorry for the double posting lol At any rate, in my defense, I do not own a Switch, and Pokemon S/V on launch day was *not* exactly a good incentive to rush to the store to get one. I've only learned up until Sword and Shield about the main series mechanics that they still haven't changed, while some of the stuff they took out of those games realistically looked that they just flopped due to a lack of time by not being able to port everything from the 3DS successfully, not to mention all of the bad optimizations, lack of animations and the myriad of baffling poor quality stuff they did, so I quite readily lost my faith on Gamefreak. So you would have to excuse me for having a skewed view on a series that after such a bad launch on a previous title, they seemed to have learned nothing from it and somehow make things even worse. I accept my lack of investigation over what they had to offer, but trust me when I say that I don't hate on Gamefreak just because it's "cool" and "hip" to do.
