Basis of the movie: Earth getting hot so more predators are coming. Fugitive predator (best part of the movie) comes to warn humans by killing them. “Upgrade” predator who infuses itself with other DNA to make it stronger albeit completely dishonorable comes to kill the fugitive and kidnap a disabled kid to infuse itself with aspergers (which sounds way too close to assburgers).

I remember hearing fans online expressing their excitement for Shane Black's involvement with this film. "Shane Black wrote the first Predator!" they said. Rossatron even said "If anyone understands Predator, it's this guy". Meanwhile I'm sitting here thinking, "Dude, all Shane Black did was punch up the dialogue and add a bunch of pussy jokes." Most of the creative work was done by Jim and John Thomas. They're the ones that came up with the Predator, it's lore, code of honor, and the rest. And lo and behold it wasn't the golden egg they thought it would be.

The Predator is a great scifi comedy. Until I realized that, I hated the movie. Once it set in I absolutely love it. Did we want a COMEDY - no, but he did it anyway. Was he right in the head, probably not, hehe. Shane Black is one of my favorite directors/writers. Lethal Weapon, The Monster Squad, The Last Boy Scout, Last Action Hero, The Long Kiss Goodnight, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Nice Guys are all great movies. I'm telling you guys, watch The Predator as a comedy it will change everything.

I made the mistake of watching this movie once and that was all it took. I'm a big fan of the Predator franchise, ever since I saw the first movie when I was around 9 or 10. This movie disgusted me with how bad it was, especially because of the cringey, out-of-place juvenile humor and braindead retcons to the lore. I actually said, "What the f***?" aloud when Olivia Munn's character said that thing about autistic people being the next stage of human evolution. And why did that one Yautja (Predator) address Mckenna's son as a "true warrior"? Does the guy that comes from a warrior race really not know what the word means? The anti-Predator/fake Iron Man armor was also stupid.

I think it's explained in a comic that the Predators who were taking DNA to enhance themselves were a rogue faction. Fugitive & the Emissary Preds who were cut from the movie were infiltrators of that group to take them down from the inside. The story of this movie really was a disgrace to franchise lore, but at least the studio & filmmakers have been trying to course correct since then. I really liked Prey & am thrilled to hear the Yautja is going to have a leading role in Badlands.

I'm still mad I wasted money on a ticket to see this movie in a theater. Worse, I knew it was bad, but I figured critics always hated the last several Alien and Predator films so I figured I'd make up my own mind... maybe something would be redeemable about it like "Wolf" from AVPR... Maybe the action would be decent like Predators... maybe at least the set design like Prometheus would be good... but no... it was all awful. All of it. All of this movie is just the worst. I figured Shane Black has been alright as a writer and director... he's got this... no. I was wrong. I was so wrong. This movie was an abomination and blizzard of nutsacks to the face. I hate this movie. I feel like the same way there's a Shaq Fu campaign to find any physical copies and destroy them should be applied to this pile of garbage. The kid wearing the Predator mask just angers me in ways that shouldn't reasonably happen over just a film but here we are. I hate this movie. The Upgrade Cgi abomination talking at the end. I know I’m alone, but I still love the film. I think it has some of the coolest Yautja designs ever (especially the cut scenes of the emissary predators). I also thought the super predator was a bad blood. I could be wrong, but I thought it wanted to be stronger and use different methods that wouldn’t fly with regular predators, so it became a bad blood.

Apparently the film went through multiple re-shoots and re-writes during post production. Doesn't change the fact it still turned out to be a piece of shit, even the original take sounded awful.
