The plane ticket to Managua airport depends on where you are coming from and which airline you take. Once you are in Managua, the hour flight and boat are covered in the resort's ultra all inclusive rate - they take care of everything.

Thanks for watching and for taking the time to leave a comment. If you don't have any injuries that would be activated, it should be fine! Half of it is your attitude knowing it and if you expect it to be a trek, it's ok. They told us the best time to go is April/May because the water is pretty smooth.

How big were the swells on the boat ride there and back? Looks amazing but I’m a little squeamish about treacherous boat rides after our recent Fiji trip. Definitely had a few that were more adventurous than anticipated 😱

Oh gosh - not sure how big they were but it we never felt unsafe - just a little rattled.

How much did you end up tipping in total? How was covid testing? Did you take American? How many days did you stay? Do you think 3 nights is enough? What month did you go? I have so many questions lol. Sorry If you addressed this in the video, I am trying to surprise myself with part of the experience.
@LifeisGoodTravel3 жыл бұрын
We were there before the COVID test back to the US was required. We were there 4 nights and don't recommend anything less than 3 nights because of the trek to get there and get back. On the day we left, we had to leave at 5AM to catch our flight back to Managua.

I am going this week for a week! I have a few questions. I read some reviews on tripadvisor/travel websites about sandflies... how did you guys manage dealing with that? were there a lot of bugs? Which activity do you recommend the most (it is going to rain a lot next week)? How is snorkeling? How is wifi? Thank you in advance!
@LifeisGoodTravel3 жыл бұрын
How exciting that you are visiting Calala Island! You are in for a treat!! We didn't have issues with sandflies but would use the bug spray on the tops of our feet and ankles which may have helped?! The island hopping was our favorite activity but we also enjoyed the sunrise picnic they set-up for us. Most of the activities are outdoors so you'll just have to gauge the weather -- the staff will recommend the best things to do. We didn't snorkel. The WiFi was great! No issues at all.
