The individual skill of our hobby is being lost. This stuff is double edged sword.
@vincentlussier82643 жыл бұрын
@@frankmike9931 You can't paint a cockpit to look this good! But we are taking our skills and handing them over to a computer and these new 3d cockpits are just too tempting!
@mooshoopork633 жыл бұрын
@@vincentlussier8264 You are only handing it over if you want to. This is a hobby, and by definition, an activity or interest pursued for pleasure or relaxation. For some, the whole build is what they enjoy: Fitting, super detailing, painting, weathering, etc. This is me. I'm not good at it, but this is my preference. For others, they want a finished product sooner. That means cutting out steps. If that means not having to paint a cockpit, this is the way to go for them. While I don't choose this path, I get it. I know where you are coming from. As far as a model contest, then it becomes a judge's call. If given two planes that are exactly the same except for the cockpits; one hand detailed with wire, stretched sprue, and paint, vs one of these prepainted jobs. I would give my vote to the hand detailed work, but that's me.

Greetings from Spain< the home of Ammo mig and Vallejo. We have had these items here for a couple of years and they are beautiful. They are made in Hungary and distributed by Ammo mig. I have used them on four kits now and will use them whenever available. Although not inexpensive they give a look to cockpits that is unbelievably real. They are especially great in the larger scales.

A work of art for detailing the most important part of an aircraft build! I know a lot of the traditionalists will frown upon this (I remember the arguments that resin details prompted!) but just like any other upgrade, the average modeler will be able to produce great results and I see it exploding across all genres of model kits. It is going to make judging a bit more tricky though! These will definitely see use on my workbench 👍
