My mother is almost 90 and taught Bible in schools for many years. It was about 25 years ago when it stopped. Her and Dad spent many years as missionaries in their retirement years. Dad passed in 2022 and Mum is now heading up the over 90's in the Lifestyle Village she lives in, in Auckland NZ. They lived an amazing life and she still is quite active. God blessed them for their faithfulness.

Who's to say which on is correct You had scholars translating a 2000 year old language. We can't even Decipher Hieroglyphics. The king James version of the Bible. I was born in '63. I, too, have watched as the world has changed as the years have passed. In 1983, I became a born again Christian. Since then the world has gotten so much harder, it's difficult to express without someone giving me difficulties. As a young teen, Paul Harvey came on the radio on my Mother's car radio as we arrived home during a period of change in a period of change in our lives. I remember hearing this episode of Paul Harvey re-played one of these nights. There are others that are as prophetic and scarier. The one I don't want to see is his prediction of WWIII that ends in complete elimination of the human race. Do you believe Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sins? I remember Paul Harvey. My Grandma used to listen to him on her radio. I was pretty small at the time but ya cant forget that voice . Even as a kid he had some interesting things to say. As for this, its amazing that everything he's talking about has come to pass. I remember the first time I heard about metal detectors in the schools I was in Jr. High & they were already in the high schools in the inner city. I almost had to go to this school, but thank goodness , being a teenager, its probably one of the few things that my mom & i agreed on, was that i wasn't going to this particular school, even though i should have been bc of the area where I lived. I took a city bus to the jr. high in the next town over. I also remember in the 10th grade hearing about the 1st shooting, it was in England (?) . There was a young lady who shot up her class & her reason was she didn't like Mondays . There is a song that was written about it. By the time we started hearing more about these shootings I had kids of my own who were in elementary school. Never would I have thought.. Back then, news obviously didn't travel as fast. As for TV, i remember when remotes came into play , people Loved it & tv's went from black and white to color. LOL. As for Mr. Harry he was a pretty intenligent man.

My mother was a Catholic, but religiously listened to Paul Harvey. This always stood out in my mind about my mother. She always had her little transistor radio next to her, listening to weather reports, the news and especially Paul Harvey. Sure do miss my mom, she was one of a kind, and was the best mother anyone could possible have. "And now you know... the rest of the story."

I believe you aren't giving JR enough credit. I do think that he IS one of the sharpest knives in the drawer (it is 'sharpest', not 'smartest'). JR has an abundance of emotional intelligence, which is what he had from the beginning of his podcasts. He is thoughtful, allows guests to speak at length without constant interruptions, and listens. Yes, he gains knowledge. But, there are many types of 'smart' people. It takes wisdom to recognize this fact.

He is definitely above average. He is not a genius but if average is 100 IQ he is for sure somwhere around 120-130 which place you in position being smarter than 80-85% of population. I'll be 59 this year and my father and my mother listen to Paul Harvey all the time so as a child growing up I remember Paul Harvey very well and it's amazing how his readings and stories so to speak are truly happening I'm scared for my children and my grandchildren I have three children and eight grandchildren and it just keeps getting scarier and scarier😢

My husband and I have always loved Paul Harvey. It came on the radio and we'd listen to it. Usually he'd tell a story, reveal who the story was about... "And now you know the rest of the story!" A good addition to this is CS Lewis "The Screwtape Letters"

At my school the guys had guns in racks on their trucks. At my ex husbands school, they had to bring them in gun cases and carry them inside to the school. The teacher would stack them behind her desk. So that means all day, these teachers had stacks of guns in their rooms that not a soul bothered. The teachers would give them them back at the end of the day so the boys could go straight out and hunt in the woods after school let out. Violence at our high schools, except for an occasional fist fight, was rare.
