Growing up we would drive on the beach alot. We had wide tires and with steady momentum we would drive anywhere. You would float on top of the sand. These were older trucks with posi and straight axles. Rarely did we need to air down. North of us was a red beach sand that nothing could go thru so no one drove up there. I pulled many a vehicle out.

Probably because Soild/straight axles are better and more reliable than "IFS/Independent Front Suspension" offroad and older vehicles are lightweight compared to rigs these days over loaded with shit you don't need

Steps for sand driving, tyre psi, no idiots behind the wheel, worst case use a shovel . . . still no surprise that the Nissan popped/ had issues, the ute is light as a feather, spins the hell out of the tyres, drives it looks a tool and you will need to use some.

Okay, I don't get it. The white Nissan (at 3:35) didn't appear all that stuck. Wasn't like he was buried up to the axles. Any truck should have been able to pull him out. Instead, he didn't seem to move even an inch. Was he holding the brakes? Why wasn't he in gear and helping? Odd.

Lol I’ve had zero issues on sand or mud holes with my 98 GU 2.8 running 14psi 3” lift on 35’s I don’t understand how these people with high power seem to get stuck? Also all the issues of a 2.8 have been fixed and resolved in my fully rebuilt motor.. but even still I don’t get it!

Good point. Winching in sand is hard. There aren't trees around to anchor off. Attaching to another vehicle will only give maybe 500kg of pull before the vehicle gets dragged along the sand. Most people don't even bring a shovel let alone a winch. That being said, generally if you need more then a very light snatch / tow, it may be worth while going with a winch recovery next rather then a heavy snatch pull.
