As of right now, I'm going to keep both. I love the 4S, but I also think that the 6S has the potential to be even better with a few changes. But if you're on a budget, I'd say get the 4S and buy the M2C Basher Bar right away. I'm going to add it to my 4S before I start bashing again in the spring, since I am on my 3rd chassis.

I've got a discontinued team associated RC8.2 1/8 buggy that I broke and can't get parts for. Reedy electronics are still good. 2000kv brushless motor, SC1000-BLesc and XP2G radio. I've also got 2 5200 mah, 35C 4s lipos. I want to get a Kraton to do some "average" bashing on my acre lot. Question is should I go for the 1/8 EXB roller and use my 4S electronics or just get the 4S RTR for the same price? I really have no desire to go to 6S given I have parts for 4S and I think 4S is plenty fast for what I'm doing. Any advice is much appreciated!

I’d say that there could be a chance we see some sort of 4S Kraton EXB roller, or you could find a Kraton 4S Roller on eBay and use your electronics. There’s no reason to buy a complete RC in your scenario because AE electronics are quality stuff and better than most RTR

@@traxrc yea and I feel like the updated 1/10 Kraton is 90% of what the 6S version is but without the weight. Does Arrma release new versions at a particular time of year or is it just random. Thanks for the reply!

From my experience, the 4S is great for 4S, but the 6S needs wayyy more to be durable. I’m not sure what the Arrma release times are. Ik you can find rollers of Traxxas cars easily on eBay, and I’m sure that it would be the same for the Kraton 4S. But it is newer, so idk if there are any yet.

Brought my 6s with the same setup...I can't run it on 8s it's uncontrollable lol I just run it on 6s...and I have the punch turned all the way up

I have one on 8s too it’s not as bad as you would think it’s actually a monster I just the whole spektrum system in it on 6s I’m going like 80+mph but I really don’t know how fast because I don’t have the room to send flat out so you can probably guess it is even faster on 8s don’t worry about the spur and pinion being exposed it doesn’t hurt anything Plus the bracket holds the wires away from the gears

I just bought the same car. I paid $375 for it. It was never driven. It has all the 6s blx electronics in it. I just got batteries yesterday so I haven’t been able to drive it yet. Maybe this weekend. First 6s and New to rc so it’s pretty intimidating lol. Have a rustler and a typhon also.

Sup noob question from a nooby how you tell its 8s capable just so I know for future reference knowledge is key am trying to learn I got a kraton 4s v1 for my 1st bit to fast so I bought a typhon 3s now looking at a kraton 6s

If it is the factory esc, it will say on the box. For aftermarket ESCs, like HobbyWing, it might say on the ESC itself, or you’ll have to figure out the model and look it up.

They're fantastic trucks! Had mine for a couple of years now, and yeah... as you said, 8S is just insane and basically unusable power. A friend of mine has one on 8S and let me drive it. 6S with the right pinion is plenty...lol. Also, if it wasn't already said, swap out the rear EXB diff for an LSD front diff. The factory EXB rear diff tends to have issues breaking sun gears due to the cupped diff case. I swapped mine out for the exact LSD the truck has in the front, and it's been bulletproof ever since. Anyway, subbed to the channel! Drop by mine some time if you get a chance! Happy bashing my man!!

Just scored a Kraton 6s EXB myself in a trade. Posted my Vaterra Ascender Bronco for $400obo or trades and a guy messaged me asking for an even trade with his Kraton. Thing was in perfect shape with some additional upgrades and extra parts. Now I just need to get some new battery connectors so I can actually run it myself 😅

Hi mate I'm running 1250kv motor with max6 esc spur 46 and 26 pinion and on 6s and you will be very happy on 6s and you will not destroy your differentials. And to crazy on 8s trust me 🤪🤣🤣🤣. Enjoy

The diffs are my only concern with 8S lol. I’m definitely sticking with 6S

@@traxrc your chassis will be fine but if anything I've seen a 50mm wide alaminium plate that goes from differential to differential and that will be all you need. You will be happy on 6s no worries mate 👍 46 spur & 24 pinion shouldn't over heat

I'll look into shimming the diffs as I have heard this a lot after doing minimal research on the 1/8 Arrmas. When I rebuild this RC this winter I'll check the gearing too. If it isn't too hot when I first run it I'll probably gear it up.
