The island is really the best horror in resident evil. every time you get to that part of the game you are afraid of a crash! then you also have the horror of even having to do it any time you play through the game as well. Truly terrifying.

Now I might be wrong about this, but I think the reason that the chainsaw enemies sometimes have no sound cues is because the chainsaw sound effects are only loaded in areas where said enemies can be found normally. Also side note about regenerators: If you shoot off the head and then the leg, they can't bite you from the ground.

The randomizer is great and it just keeps getting better. I'm really interested to see if eventually the enemy configurations can be totally randomized and you could see a cultist beside a chain gun guy and a regenerator in the village.

12:16 there is a way, but it is very subtle. if the body shows any tentacles, you shot the wrong one. shooting the right one cause the plagas to not appear in the getting hit animation. I skipped the thermal scope on my first playthrough, so that's how I figured it out. of course this does not work on type 2 regenerators, but those you can use a thermal grenade

Damn, this is some cool RE4 trivia. Got anymore? I always figured it should be possible - because there's no special damage properties applied to rifle when using thermal scope - but never had patience to try it out. Cool to find out someone has done it!

It would be amazing to see you do the “true impossible” mod. There’s very little videos of it. But you have 999 of each grenade, some crazy no reload/infinite auto magnum and some other weapons. The enemies seem to consist of teleporting groups of Lord Sadlers that have an insane reach move where they extend a tentacle at you. There’s also the Salvadors (?) with dual chainsaw blades. The Gigante gets heavily changed, some of them have claws. It’s just an all around whacky mod

Hey bawkba quick question. Do you think the gun you get from the merchant when you shoot the medallions changes? Say the 1 time the striker didn't show up at all it may have been the medallion weapon and the only way you get whatever that gun in that seed is by shooting at least the 1st 10? If im not mistaken the 10 medallions reward you with an upgraded handgun. Not sure the name but it comes with a +1 to all stats. Hope this helps!

Bawkbasoup begins with only a Shotgun with 6 shells. Me: "Surely he's gonna knife most enemies until he gets ammo or another gun..." *Proceeds to use two shells on the first 3 enemies, two of them skippable* After a reset, he arrives at the village with a damn magnum. *Proceeds to shoot a single bullet at the first enemy, making his gun empty. Which means he fired the rest of the clip BEFORE even seeing the free shotgun.* Overkill is the name of thy style I see XD

10:48 I love the island, for me it's the best part of the game. At that point you have all the weapons unlocked and the best enemies appears (regenerators, U3, JJ, Krauser...). I hope they don't take anything from the island and just add more zones. On the other hand, I hate the castle, it fells so long and I don't care about Salazar, also it has the most tedius zones in the game. I hope the remake improves the castle.

IMO the castle is awful. It's not all bad (the entrance, the first appearance of Garrador and Novistadors are great), but it has the sections I hate the most. I love the fact that in Ada´s mode the castle is just 1 chapter.

@@Bawkbasoup I definitely did too, a massive improvement! The pacing felt much better than the slog that the original island had, especially towards the end. I also liked what they did with Krauser and Saddler's boss fights. Saddler is no longer the _complete_ pushover he used to be and Krauser is straight-up a Metal Gear boss.
