Please check out The Stylistics - You Make Me Feel Brand New, plus Gladys Knight and The Pips - Neither One of Us (Wants to be the first to say goodbye), another great hits from the earlier 70's. See you later, guys!

Your are picking some real gems lately. This is such a great tune. I love his little Sam Cooke runs he throws in there. He was an original member of The Delfonics, the first band to really kick off the Philly Soul phenomena which dominated the 70's.

I grew up in the 60's and 70's. Love songs were coming out every week. There are so many groups it would take you months to hear them all. I am elated that Young Folk are listening to the music that help bring their parents intonation the world. It's a shame that they are not being created like in my era

"I didn't know they wrote a song about us!" Lol, best line of the day Shawn! This is absolutely one of my favorite songs of all times and Major Harris, (who was from right here in Philly), was an incredible talent with a unique voice! Many times in my "younger guy days", I would meet a girl, throw this record on, and good (or bad...depending on how you looked at it) things would happen! lol :) I, definitely owe Major Harris some thanks for helping with the seductions! Luther Vandross covered this later, and like everything else he did, it was also excellent, and kept it close to the original, but for me, the Major Harris version was the original, and the best! Sound effects at the end and all! Keep up the great work, Shawn and Mel!

O'my'gosh', I used to listen to this song, and it brings me to tears... everyone says that puppy love doesn't exist...I truly, and actually was in love with a man that didn't care much about me, and definitely didn't love me. I wasn't mature enough to understand that this man never had any real feelings for me, here's the saddest part, I didn't care at all that he didn't love me, I lived to see him anytime he wanted to see me. It was a fantasy, he was my real first love, and gave him my virginity. Had anyone knew about him, he would have went to jail. I was 14 and he was in his twenties. In this song I think back to that little girl, who wanted nothing more than for this man to love me. The last time I saw this man I was married with two children, and just happened to see him outside of a market. He called my name and I walked over to where he was, said hi, but had to leave because I was going to work. He was an alcoholic, and died pretty young because of major health issues related to his alcoholism. I did write a long letter and placed it on his grave. Of course my life moved on, and have had a great life. Watch out young girls because there are predators out there that will tell you anything to get into your pants...

I love to see these young ones react so positively to music from our time 👍🏾. It shows that music affects the mind. During the 60’s through 80’s, we were more loving towards each other. In the 90’s when the music started to shift towards more violent lyrics, you could see the change in the club scene as well as the kids. Really a shame. But thank goodness we have KZbin to go back to 🙌

No doubt this Major Harris recording is great, classic, and still hot to this day. But the first female to moan in ecstasy( as you hear at some point on Major's "Love Won't Let Me Wait") throughout a recording was on the provocative love song that put my girl Donna Summer (RIP) on the map entitled "Love to Love You,” released in 1975, please react to that one.
