Something I failed to mention is that there isn't a single Daytona Gray car on copart with a clean front end. I had Audi run a few VINs and they were all Monsoon Gray :( I am definitely still on the fence though, despite having started the work. i just got sick of watching the s4 sit and needed to do something.

@@artemvysh I mean if you were to sell both of the cars, I think you would take a hit finically. I would just fix the car that has mechanical issues and sell the other car as a whole parts car or just sell the parts individually.

Enjoyed the video. Several thoughts: Keeping KZbin happy important because of growing channel / revenue stream. Keeping viewers happy important because growing channel, more potential viewers, and consistency. Most important, Keeping family happy and yourself by achieving balance in all things. How about twice a month, consistent schedule (currently Saturdays. ) Do "updates" via shorts. I am assuming you are doing only one project at a time, and selling other projects? Are you working on other projects at all such as motorcycles at all for extra outside income? As far as colors contrast, can't tell if the colors match. Remember, when you "tire" of this project and graduate to say, a Porsche, someone will be thrilled to pay LESS for a reconstructed title S4. As a non mechanic but Audi enthusiast it is fascinating to watch the build. So, for the most part, the A4 parts fit on the S4? Have you reached out to Auto Body shops in Appleton to maybe trade mechanic jobs for paint work on your Audi S4? Keep up the good work! Maybe give update on decisions via shorts. When you finish the project you and the fiance have to take us on a ride with you.

All good points, thank you! I don’t plan on selling other projects until they’re finished unless I absolutely have to. I try to simultaneously work on other things as much as I can or whenever I need a break from this one. Yeah non-mechanical parts are very interchangeable on the two models. Main differences are just in the drivetrain and suspension. I do have a body guy, but things like this cost lots of money, and usually most people who are able to do body work can do things I do. Also believe it or not, this car has a clean title lol

@@artemvysh Understood. Copart does sell cars with clean titles. Get the idea have different projects to take a break (The RV episodes gave you many views and was a brief distraction.) Thought you might have a body guy. Never know, even if he or his guys can do mechanical work they may be so busy he is willing to trade services anyway. It is good to see that your channel has grown enough to have sponsors. It helps grow the channel as long as it doesn't get annoying. It is good you are thinking about the channel progress. Asking for opinions helps get variety of responses and ideas. I guess you have to plan your schedule. As a long time watcher of other channels whatever you decide try to stay consistent. Example is always producing on the same day or days. Not leaving details hanging or not coming to conclusions. Staying true to yourself and your goals/mission. Some channels get big and forget original mission. (Old timers call this jumping the shark.) :).

Thanks! Agreed, this is more about the journey than the result. I do have to disagree about the engine swap though. To turn an A4 into S4 I’d have to swap engine, transmission, differentials, suspension, axles, exhaust, every single control module, cluster, most of the interior would have to be torn apart. It’s just not worth the trouble. I’d much rather just accept some hidden damages than have to spend weeks swapping everything over. Plus the S4 has a clean title, and it was a southern car. The A4 has multiple title brands (rebuilt, flood, and not actual odometer mileage).

+1 for this idea. Seems like the most cost efficient way to get this done. A4 body is great, mechanically failing. S4 is mechanically sound, body failing.

Cost efficient yes, but time wise an incredibly long process. At that point I’d definitely just do a swap into a wagon. There’s wiring throughout the car that would need to be modified, a ton of interior needs to be taken apart, installing the manual parts into an automatic car, etc etc. A lot of complications that I really don’t know if I’m willing to take on at this point. However I am starting to really consider doing that into an allroad/avant body. That’s the only thing that would make it worthwhile to me.

@@artemvysh that’s a very fair point and an allroad swap would both stand out as well as hold value much better. I think if i were in your shoes i’d fix the A4 and sell it as complete as you can to use money for an avant and do that. It would also give you countless hours of content and episodes. You are not prepared to fix the level of chassis damage this car has. I think your options are 1) send it to a body shop to fix the frame issues only, or 2) part out the S4 and fix the A4, 3) much bigger mechanical project to get an automatic S4 with a bad engine an/or transmission for cheap and swap the good mechanical parts from the crashed manual S4 into the one with a good body but bad mechanical. Preferably a wagon.

@@angelcelis9090 without a proper frame machine the car will never drive right with that front corner damage. The B pillar needs to be cut out and a good piece welded in at the lower door mount. It's moving with a little tap of the hammer and the metal is torn.
