I go to Portillos twice a week and I can say they have the best burgers,period. I’ve had in and out,I’ve had whataburger they can’t hold a candle to portillos .

Grew up eating at Portillo’s in Chicago. Great operators. Great food. Expanding concept. They will do well in new geography. Did not buy during IPO frenzy. Thanks 🙏 for this reminder.

Enjoy Portillos here in Scottsdale….first location in AZ and opened several years ago. Drive thru is ideal. Big fan of Chipotle though. Curious about Cava and will hopefully try them soon. Interested in your thoughts on Cava, this is my request for future video. :)

PTLO is at the mainstream birth. Potential is huge if you can risk money on 100 shares it could pay off. Theres lots of value, but even i just snagged up 3 shares of chipotle

Just curious - do you really think hotdogs translate for East/West North and South of US??

They definitely translate to the south given the fact the restaurant generating $19 million in revenue per year was in Texas. We will see about east and west coasts, but hot dogs are pretty universal.

Too much debt you think?, not much cash on hand or is that not a worry at all ?

Their cash on hand is low and debt high because they are aggressively opening new locations, which is eating up all of their cash flow. If they experience hardship(say due to a recession) they can slow down the rate that they open new locations.

I agree this is a risk, but i consider it an insane good risk/reward :) It can go to 0 or it can go up 100 x. They can use cash flows from chicago to open new stores, without more dillution and debt. Problem is in a huge reccesion if cash flow goes away and there are 3-5 bad years. I bought a huge position for 10 and will consider selling in bad weather

I asked a buddy who lives in Chicago about PTLO and he said its a mainstay there, ppl rave about it there. He thinks it has a chance as a national franchise in suburban areas but questions how consistency across the nation will be executed since the food is very specialized and not sure if it can be scaled. They may have to change the recipes to pull it off. It could still be delicious but might not taste the same as the flagship stores, so let's call that branding risk. He's in finance so he knows when I'm asking I'm not talking about the food. The stock continues to be on my watchlist. In this area, I think I'm more likely to pull the trigger on WINGS rather than PTLO.
