When Cannon blatantly failed to recuse on this case, and then went on to put our national security at risk in order to openly sandbag a high priority investigation with clear cut evidence into the criminal who appointed her, and did so against all judicial reason, it filled me with utter disgust. She should have turned the case down and referred it back to the Judge who issued the warrant. Her first mistake was assuming that she had jurisdiction. The Appellate Court only overturned her ruling on the Classified Documents, but they also indicated several times that she didn't really have any jurisdiction to begin with. The Special Master Judge has already indicated that there are parts of her ruling that may require him to return the decision making process back to the original warrant judge. Especially if the Donald's lawyers continue to refuse to give him proof of their claims.

She had no way of knowing exactly which of the Appellate Judges would be assigned to the case. Odds are it would be Conservative Judges, but it could have just as easily been three Liberal ones. And honestly, I really don't think she has enough judicial knowledge to have even realized that part (or even all) of her ruling would be overturned for lack of basis in actual Law. Judge Cannon was basically a law clerk with some light courtroom experience when she was nominated by Trump. Her problem now going forward is that any ruling she makes will be heavily scrutinized by any appeals court that her judgements go before.

Judge cannon is a turtle on a post. She's not supposed to be up there. She doesn't know what to do now that she's up there. And she sure didn't get up there by herself. Do we need more judge cannons before we put in some job requirements, not just "whoever the president picks and the house says yeah". Now that both red and blue teams basically play for getting the majority and presidency so they can do whatever they want virtually unimpeded, we need some laws to keep the shenanigans in check. Lifelong conservative here and NOT a Trump fan and sounds likes justice is about to be served and good, about time. But I do have a less strident view on the ruling to allow a special master. I don't agree with the decision but I understand it's reasoning, that this is a very delicate issue and we need to ensure the utmost amount of fairness. The more we are above partisan approach, the more the country can accept the decision. The more things are viewed as partisan, the less so. Now I get some people, no matter how fair it is, simply will not accept even anything fair, reasonable or just but we do want our best faith effort towards same.

We have not heard anything about the issue of empty top-secret folders for at least two or three weeks. Where are they?? Who has access to them?? I’m very thankful to the three 11th Circuit judges for their timely ruling in favor of The People, so the DOJ can proceed with their vitally important inspection of the docs available to them. But, as it’s clear that t’Rump’s “personal interest” in any top-Secret docs would have involved what he felt would have enabled him to stay out of prison, if he still has them he could sell them or blackmail a country to do whatever he wants. There are plenty of people who still feel threatened by the disappearance of these docs, and for good reason.

The problem here is that Trump's cultists are a lot more outspoken, and willing to take their "free speech" rights to the point of standing in front of a civilian home shouting and gun-waving. Democrats don't do that, so if a judge has the choice between getting on the wrong side of one of those groups ... well, you see the result. This needs a public reaction. It needs protests in front of that court yard, and I wouldn't mind protests in front of her house - not _on_ her grounds, and certainly not armed. But her employers, AKA the US citizens, need to speak up, and not just on the net.
