i also tend to think that young people, especially the late teenage years, are times when you're discovering new emotions (while having some extra juices flowing, that tend to increase those emotions) and are less in tune with what they are, or how to process them or deal with them and do so through their passions. Pair that with language that better relates to the youngest generation. Put it together and you have both creative new-ity paired with emotional new-ity. Its kind of a win win if you have the trifecta by being talented/practiced by that age.

Inventors overwhelmingly have their breakthroughs in their 30s and 40s, this is factual not anecdotal. Outside of this age range it's more likely that a breakthrough will come from someone older than someone younger.

Don't forget Sophie (RIP), Squarepusher, Virtual Riot, Skrillex, Charlie XCX, Autechre, and Noisia although the only thing I do agree with Rick is that it is indeed easier to be creative when young because you have more spare time (in theory, I've met young people that are way more busy than an actual adult), and in the underground Dubstep scene specifically you're seeing way younger artists every time, some years ago almost every producer was about 20 ish years old, then 18, and now you're seeing way more 16 year olds and younger get into the genre, even Marauda started collabing with Code: Pandorum at 15 and Moore Kismet released with NSD:BL at 14

It’s probably not about age, but about how the industry changes people and ruins their individuality which is built around their home towns and culture, which all washes away after they all live the high life in the California hills. It washes away all the interesting things they have to say. People go from writing songs from their heart and soul, to churning them out for the industry, to make their label money, and to please fans. If you start a career at 30, you’ll be creative but likely wash out by 40. Something like that. All artists, no matter their age, typically produce their best works in the first 2 to 3 albums. Mostly 2, more rarely 3. The BEST of the BEST seem to make great music deep into their discography. Like Kendrick Lamar and Lana Del Rey. I prefer Lana’s earlier works, but her new stuff still has stand out tracks. I dislike how Rick is pressuring people to make it by 30, it’s bull. Music needs diverse voices from all age groups. Also, let’s not pretend like most pop stars are NOT cultivated by a big group of people. Those groups change over time… the writers and producers take on different projects. From Rihanna to Justin Bieber.

This is the type of thing where, I noticed this is a huge fear in ppl. So when people we may trust make videos of this sort it creates a feeling of unease, because a lot of time life sets us up to think we gotta have it all figured out in our twenties, but thats not really realistic, infact mastery if anything usually comes well into your 30s, a lot of your favorite artists are older than you know, and lots of people involved in their work, producers, engineers, etc. i think the biggest challenge we face is really about feeling too old, i think being young and inexperienced allows us a certain liberty to not make sense, and have all these ideas but no idea how to express them, and we duct tape, staple, and glue that idea together instead of knowing the right sized nuts and bolts, and at the end of the day it works for what you want it for. But its different than the factory model made by us who insist on our supposed 'perfection'. We never bust out the glue, the tape, because we've learned "better" ways to handle these types of situations.

Like Just want to add this point here. That beethoven was totally deaf early in his life relative to his masterworks, of which IMO is in greater number than any single person has ever produced. Based mainly on the lemgths of his works and the sheer power behind his music, he wrotr the equivalent to 3-4 times the amount of masterworks than even Pink Floyd who released Darkside, Animals, and Wish You Were Here in Succession, the Beatles even xont hold a cup to the length of time of beautifulmusic he did. Can you really include him in such a list. Also mozart wrote a new symphony every single sunday for church. Bachs library of work is albeit not as exciting, vast in it's scope. Its foolish to include the great masters of classical because the complexity and scale of their music was relegated to strict forns of the Pythagorean musical scale and could be written mostly without needing an instrument because of the way it is composed. Music today is so much more than that and itz kinda a foolish idea to think creativity begins to die at 30. Les Claypool for example. Has gotten far more greater of a composer as years went by. Beato is a know it all about something thats felt and never truly known.
