Well done brother. I've been doing this for decades but still haven't taken the forward facing sonar plunge. So nice to finally see someone not being all about that and trying to help the guys who fish from the bank. And even though I've not done it the past few years, I was not the only one doing it at least 20 years ago. Anyway Well done sir and be blessed

Back in the late 80's and early 90's there was a select group of bass anglers in the Northeast that would use this technique on highly pressured waters in the early spring and fall ...back then it was done with 4 and 6 lb monofilament and 1/16 -1/4 oz ball heads and the preferred bait was a 3 and 4 inch Bass Pro Shops Triple Tail grub(no need to shake the rod with this)...other times it was a Lunker City 3 and 4 inch Fin S Fish....With the grub it was straight smoke color or in really tanic colored water a black/chartreuse tail....the Fin S Fish was Smokey Shad or Arkansas Shiner or straight Black....45° banks or parallel to rocky humps on the steeper sides.... It shows one thing....very few of today's techniques are new....It's the fact that guys were more tight lipped back in those days....lol Same goes with the ned rig....ball or mushroom heads and half of a 4" senko was used years ago....🙃

It’s a great technique but man my adhd self just struggles to fish it properly…I’d rather sacrifice bites by fishing a jerkbait, Dt6, or blade bait all in the winter those three techniques are what I throw 95% of the time in the winter here in TN

Bassgeek! It all started in the 70's 80's & 90's with our Grandpa's, Uncles and friend's dads! How about older styles(creme minnow, Manns minnows Knight minnows, Fliptail, original Yum company, etc)Superfloater, Fliptail Creme minnows Manns minnows. I find they still catch fish! Culprit minnows, Gillraker minnows Mr.Twister minnows, Fin-S are " All dangerous lures!" lures. I still use them and they work fine. I'm really not too picky. -so many are interchangeable in function and effectiveness. I BUY TONS OF "OLD SCHOOL LURES ON EBAY, EVERY WEEK LOL! I'M A "TACKLE JUNKY!". IF IT AINT BROKE DON'T FIX IT! I think the one great change that occurred that offered something really different was adding lots of salt to the plastic -not for the flavor so much, but for the density. Density differences in plastics make a difference in action and fall-rate -from really buoyant to really dense. So I do dip my lures in Spike -It Garlic which is the Uncle Josh replacement. So in closing I'm okay with "OLD SCHOOL" so also " I'm okay with New Schoo!".
