If you pause and hit the Guide tab, you can see definitions for all the stats/modifiers, such as Burn and Knockback, as well as a bunch of other info. The arsenal tab shows what guns you have (and haven't) discovered, and their stats/description.

I think you would appreciate the game Last Command if you haven't tried it already. It's criminally overlooked, it's not your typical roguelike, it has a really interesting story that adds to the surreal atmosphere.
