going back an extra checkpoint is a endless death softlock failsafe which has existed in halo 2 as well, so waiting just a lil while before loading ur checkpoint again is a good idea if you dont wanna be brough 2 checkpoints back

The reverting to 2nd previous checkpoint was a feature thats been in almost every halo. It was supposed to be to help mitigate soft locks(when a checkpoint hits right when your about to die)

Not sure if it only applies to halo 2 but i was messing around with that and it only gives me one checkpoint revert (from spam suicides) before locking it at the previous checkpoint. So in theory he could load the next checkpoint then trigger the revert so it locks it at the previous checkpoint. Not sure if it works differently with spamming the load last checkpoint button tho. Something im gonna play around with some more soon

I'm pretty sure a Vet like yourself knows if you die and respawn too quickly on a checkpoint, it brings you to the previous checkpoint in case you are stuck in a repetitive loop of death. It's been implemented since start. Lol

Spawning at the previous spawn point is a feature. It's to help players that get stuck in a death loop upon spawn. The feature usually takes affect once a player spawns 3-5 times within 5-10 seconds. While it's annoying when attempting glitches on purpose, it is still a very helpful and needed feature.

Reverting to the previous checkpoint before the one you needed to retry over and over is normal, it's a mechanism in the checkpoint system that prevents soft locks in the games through death loops, or bad setups like not enough ammo to do the fight or whatever so you can go back one checkpoint further and change your strategy

6:24, you respawn to previous checkpoint as a backup plan if your checkpoint us glitched or you get spawn killed nonstop at a checkpoint. This allows you to backtrack 1 checkpoint to rid yourself of the burden. In this case it is a burden to you, not elevating a burden. Lol. For a 50 who focuses on all these glitches tho… I’m surprised this has never come across your plate. This is in every Halo if a checkpoint is restarted enough, or if a checkpoint is forced enough.
