How is the noise of the graphics card? is it very quiet? the Asus Tuf is supposed to be very quiet, one of the most silent costum models of RX 7900 XT (X)
@ALKtech

@@Rakanay_Official the fans are pretty quiet, but the card that I tested had quite a fair bit of coil whine - the coil whine was much louder than the fan noise!
@Rakanay_Official
@Rakanay_Official Жыл бұрын
@@ALKtech Was the coil whine very annoying? Or could you hear it a bit when you approached the graphics card? and can i use the HDMI and Displayport at the same time? Or will DP be disabled when HDMI is used? The manufacturers should really sit down to it, can not be that comes with every graphics card coil whine, there is something wrong with the quality control.
@ALKtech
@ALKtech Жыл бұрын
@@Rakanay_Official I must caveat, I tested the card with an open-air test bench, so the coil whine was definitely audible even from around 30cm away. If I had used this card inside of an enclosed PC case, the coil whine probably wouldn't be that loud...but yes I do agree that this is something card manufacturers should look at a little more closely... Anyway you should be able to use both the DisplayPort and HDMI ports concurrently!

My last two generations of video cards going from past to most recent are; RTX 3060, RTX 3090ti, AMD Radeon RX 7800XT, AMD Radeon RX 7900XT. Actually, have you considered getting a 5800X3D as a drop-in upgrade for your 3700X? A 5800X3D still packs a good punch today, and pairs very well with a RX 7900 XT IMO for 1440P gaming at pretty good graphics settings and FPS!

Do you know the model of your motherboard? Is it something with the B550/X570 chipset? Reason why I'm asking is cos the older AM4 chipsets (e.g. X470 etc) do not support PCIe 4.0, which would impair the performance of the 7900 XT somewhat. That said, assuming you're on PCIe 4.0, a 5600X should perform just fine with a 7900XT for 1440p gaming on pretty decent framerates - while you might get a good FPS bump going to a 5800X3D, the price of the 5800X3D would be a major deciding factor for me in such a situation..

Yup that's right, the graphics card power connectors from a power supply come in a 6+2-pin configuration; you'll just need to make sure the power supply you're getting has at least three of these 6+2 PCIe power connectors, and at least 750W of power in order to support this RX 7900 XT graphics card!

I played Fallout 4 on a RTX 3080 12GB with 350mods with Wabajack and you still will have freezes and low FPS in some areas, that's due to the old Engine not system requirements. You will have a better experience overall with a new GPU but you cannot get rid of all the drops and choppiness.

@ALKtech
@ALKtech Жыл бұрын
How's the pricing for both cards where you're from, and you intend to game at 4K/QHD resolution? You'd get FPS improvements with the 7900 XT over the 6950 XT, but the performance gulf isn't really that wide at least from what I've seen of benchmarks floating around on the web. With regards to CPU bottlenecking, unless you're intending to do extremely high refresh rate gaming at 1080p, my take is that the 6950 XT or 7900 XT will do okay with the 5600. That said, if you have the budget and are still set on the AM4 platform, the 5800X3D would be my CPU of choice...

I went with the 7900XT XFX OC edition. I had $125 in gift cards and the 6950 XT at the time cost $800. You get 15% better rasterization performance, and maybe 40% better RT performance if that's important to you. With tax and gift card, my 7900XT OC was $823, a price I felt comfortable with.

Looking at this card as Asus is offering a cashback on it... but, I'm worried it will not fit my case (Original O11 Dynamic). Not in length what everyone is always focussing on, that's fine... no, in width, or height, depending on how you look at it, how far it sticks out of the motherboard. It's 18 mm higher than my current videocard, and I have about that also left between it and the glass sidepanel, so it might just fit, or it might just not :|
@ALKtech
@ALKtech Жыл бұрын
Mmm, I'd have thought that the O11 Dynamic should be pretty roomy and wide...haven't had the chance to handle one in any case. If you're looking at getting this card and it doesn't fit, perhaps getting third-party L-shaped PCIe power adapters might help?

@@ALKtech I ordered it from Amazon because I know they'll take it back no questions asked and no costs to ship back if it doesn't fit. @finraziel
@finraziel Жыл бұрын
Lol I just saw in the email that youtube sent that you actually said something else than what I thought :P must not have been all the way awake this morning when I replied... The power adapters wont be an issue I think because the receptacles to plug them into are sunk into the card and not all the way on the top, so I don't think they'll stick out. Good thing though that I misunderstood because I think if it doesn't fit then a vertical mounting kit should solve it. And yeah, the base O11 dynamic actually doesn't have that much clearance because the mainboard is raised to allow room to have the psu behind it. Bigger air coolers can be a problem in them too. Anyway, DHL will bring it somewhere tomorrow.

So it fits :D just barely... Now the wait is for a new PSU, because my old 650W did not take kindly to me trying to land my spaceship in starfield (and first crashed to desktop, then tripped the OCP on the second attempt... so no gaming on it until the new PSU arrives). Had hoped because it's a seasonic prime titanium that it might have handled it, but I guess not. It really is a beast though! What a card...
