It's different now and I'm not sure why. Its also too early to tell whether it's just the honeymoon phase or if its gonna stay this way. For me, I think it's a combination of things like: - the game itself doesn't feel completely hopeless or like i'm getting robbed all the time. i think a lot of the frustration with SFV for me stemmed from stuff like wakeup cr. LP that didn't look like it should hit but would hit anyways. - playing only on PC now and making input lag reduction a priority. i think this helps in subtle ways because there's very few instances of feeling like i blocked or tech something but got hit anyways. it's usually pretty easy to see when i get hit that i either cracked/choked or it was a knowledge-check situation that i didn't know. the former is easy to swallow because i accept responsibility for fucking up, while the latter is easy to accept because the game isn't even out yet and nobody has it all figured out. - the netcode is good and doesn't make me feel like i'm at a disadvantage for not being able to just turn my brain off and run some autopilot offense i think objectively around this time before SFV came out i was objectively in a better / different place in life, so that may have some kind of effect as well. or maybe i'm old and have low testosterone now and don't have the energy to be upset about the little things anymore. only time will tell 🤷‍♂️

@@crosscountertv I stopped playing SFV about 4 years ago. I didn't actually quit because I disliked the game or was salty about it I just moved to Korea and there isn't a huge scene here and all the friends I liked running sets with were in the states. Then I got sidetracked with life and other games and here we are. However, I do find myself recently getting really salty playing CSGO and it's mostly just frustration with myself not playing as well as I would like to. I also remember feeling this way back during the SF4 days when I was new to trying to GIT GUD at fighting games. I think I just tend to put a lot of pressure on myself to be better because I'm a hyper competitive person. But I also find that mentality does get in the way of me progressing cuz it leads to me calling the other person trash and blaming outside factors when the reality is I'm just deficient. Also the stuff that made me salty af in 5 was being caught in 50/50 loops against stuff like Ibuki or Mika where you never get a chance to breathe. I think 6 will still have this with characters like Kimberly, but it seems like 6 is affording some more defensive options with DI and counters. But we'll see once the game is out what ends up getting under my skin 😂 but right now I'm really excited to get back into some fkn SF!
