============================================
Tommy Morrison (January 2, 1969 - September 1, 2013) was an American professional boxer and mixed martial artist who competed from 1988 to 2009. Best known for his left hook and formidable punching power, Morrison won the WBO heavyweight title in 1993 with a unanimous decision victory over George Foreman. He lost the title in his second defense to Michael Bentt that same year. Morrison's other boxing highlights include his fight with Ray Mercer in 1991, and with Donovan Ruddock in 1995. Morrison is also known for his acting career, having starred alongside Sylvester Stallone in the 1990 film Rocky V as Tommy Gunn. He retired from boxing in 1996 after testing positive for HIV.

Lmao nah facts I don’t think anyone who was actually alive during his prime and aware of his presence would agree to that. Tyson was scary for a different reason. Any pro boxer is dangerous but even more so when they give no fcks & back then he def didn’t lmao. When he threatened ppl I feel like he genuinely meant every word 😭 & I’m not from his neighborhood but I’m from Brooklyn and I def been there. @bazar2021 24 күн бұрын
@@troyjohnson462 gotta agree with you there. Tyson was dropping ppl way bigger than him but unique in the sense that he had better than average head movement for a heavyweight. Some ppl don’t realize it’s not solely power why Tyson was such a threat. He had knockout power but Cus also made him understand and appreciate aspects of the sweet science. He knew how to sneak in the overhand right after coming out of the Dempsey roll and both his hands were deadly while it looks like Morrison mostly had a deadly left hook and was about average in other areas. & he also understood the accuracy / placement actually matters more when going for the knockout.

I would argue the way fighters train today they wouldn't be able to hang with fighters from Tommy's and Tysons time.fightwrs today don't fight enough to toughen up...the more punishment you take the stronger you heal your skin becomes thicker. When your bones break they heal stronger..you can't get that toughness from 2 or 3 fight a year

Like so many with the physical potential, his head wasn't in the right place. Mentality is why Ali was able to be around so long regaining the title 3 times, and the reason Rocky Marciano, who physically shouldn't have gone beyond a 4 round club fighter, is still The Only undefeated Heavyweight Champion.

They all used Gear, it was easier to hide back then, you can still cycle on and off now without getting caught if your smart about it. Tommy's decisions was his own fault but it did hamper his potential, which was a lot higher than he showed and Tyson another example of someone who nearly destroyed his career because of the poor choices he made in life, both at fault for their own choices. But if you think prime for prime this is an easy fight for Tyson, then you've got a tube firmly stuck in your ass linked to your nose.

The reason everyone hated Rocky 5 was because it was the first Rocky movie where Stallone wasn't the main fighter/main character and that was obviously just a huge disappointment to everyone......which is understandable 🤷🏼‍♂️. I didn't hate Rocky 5 personally my order is Rocky 4,2,5,3,1 (balboa and the creeds don't count in my opinion)

For all the people that agree with the "he was scarier than Tyson" theory...Tommy got destroyed by Lennox Lewis, Ray Mercer, & only if you've watched a movie called State Property 2 you might know who he is Michael Bentt. He won a controversial UD over George Foreman...Who did he beat to ever have anyone scared of him? Tyson was in no way the greatest or the best, but at one time he was the most feared aka as "the baddest man on the planet"....he destroyed majority of all his opponents when he was in his prime, and until Buster, he beat each and every one of them.
