@danielbentley71174 жыл бұрын
People are selfish. But so are you. We all are. But why the sense of entitlement thinking that people owe you their time? Maybe don't go into friendships with demands or expectations and you won't be so disappointed and people will feel less pressure in the friendship. As we get older our time becomes more valuable. Being a needy time-consuming friend can be draining for the other person. Think about their perspective, not just your own. What value can you offer them, not just what they can offer you.

Very true a lot of fake people, i'd say you knew that even younger, its just we give people chances . i know i did...see what i learned is people want you at their disposal ....i don't think being selfish is a simple phone call i'm mean people complain about today's technology meanwhile there are many way to say "HELLO" and refuse to do it ..its a power struggle... ..now a days everyone has their definition of selfish or any other definition at that..i hear this saying.."A friend will always be happy for you as long as your not doing better than them"..then you'll see if they were really your friend

I'm 40 and figuring out that every single one of my life long friends are not as close as we used to be. I started noticing it progressing that way my mid 30's. Life pulls you apart. People get married, have kids, take promotions at work with more hours to pay for that new house and car, etc. Before ya know it you only hangout once in a blue moon and when you do you no longer share a ton of common interests together anymore. You've both changed over time. Other things have become more important than maintaining your friendship so it gets pushed to the corner. I'm still friends with everyone but we just hardly ever spend any time together or do anything together. I've just had to learn how to like spending more time alone than I used to. I could've gotten bitter and depressed but instead I chose to find things I like to do on my own and try to keep on enjoying life. I may not get to enjoy the things I used to with my friends but I've found new things to enjoy that do not require anyone else to participate in or be a part of. I recently took up fishing and kayaking and I really enjoy doing both whether I have someone to do them with or not. I also took up miniature painting as a hobby and that has been very rewarding for me. I manage to stay happy with myself and with my life🙂

@@frankgonzales7611 you may want to take your own advice and get enlightened yourself. I myself believed that there may have either been a false positive or even an intentional attempt by someone. To screw Tommy over with doctored test results. But after looking into it after a short Facebook conversation with his wife. It became clear that not only did Tommy almost certainly have HIV. But that he knew he had it before the first blood test the boxing commission forced him to take (you know. The one he refused to take until the promoter basically told him to take the test or no fight) and fought anyway and as a result endangered other fighters. Tommy’s wife filed a lawsuit which submitted the new “negative for HIV test results” however court was able to determine that the lawsuit was not just in the courts words “Completely meritless” but even made it clear that if his wife who tried to continue the lawsuit for years by submitting the same so called negative test results over and over again. Continued to file meritless lawsuits in this matter. She could actually face legal action being taken against her The court found that the tests were far from reliable. And even though we don’t know exactly why the court believed these new tests were flawed or illegitimate. We have some pretty suspicious behavior on Tommy’s part in regards to these new tests. For one Tommy was relicensed to box in 2007 for a low brow promotion on a Indian casino. But it came out that instead of going to the facility the commission That relicensed him had told him to go to for his blood test. Tommy instead went to a small clinic that may not have required Tommy to present an ID to confirm it was Tommy taking the test. This is just one of the many suspicious circumstances regarding the negative HIV tests submitted by Tommy. But the final straw for me was when Tommy was told by the boxing commission of Quebec. that they would only license him to fight if Tommy took a commission SUPERVISED blood test at the same facility all fighters were required to do their pre fight physicals at. The commission did this because of the reported suspicion around the negative HIV tests that Tommy was submitting to prove he was HIV free. But instead of doing this. Tommy decided to declare that he would take a public HIV test at a facility of his own choosing and that the commission was more than welcome to come and observe the test. But he only did this after it was made clear that the commission would not cater to any individual fighter seeking a boxing license. By allowing any individual fighter to meet the requirements for a boxing license in a manner of their own choosing instead of the manner that the boxing commission required. Tommy wouldn’t take the blood test unless it was at a facility of his own choosing. So instead of boxing his scheduled fight in Canada. He instead retired. The reason he refused to take the test in Canada for his last scheduled fight. Is the same reason he initially refused to take the blood test that came back positive for HIV in 1996. Which was of course because He knew he had HIV and that it would be discovered if he took the test. Plain and simple I hope you don’t think I was trying to be rude or disrespectful with this comment.

One life to choose eternal life through Jesus Christ so choose wisely cause it is either heaven or hell after this life. So admit you are a sinner worthy of hell for sinning against a Holy God and believe in what Jesus did on the cross that he paid for our sins and tell that to God and if you believe that in your heart and speak it out with your mouth you are born again and have eternel life.
@Daedalos_MSV4 жыл бұрын
@@timschutte3961 Hmm, interesting concept. In the case our sins are already paid by Jesus Christ, does it mean that we are automatically sin-free and goes to Heaven? Or do I have to claim this free card to Saint Peter at the gates to Heaven? BTW I am not against Christianity or any other religion, I just simply don't understand it.
@timschutte39614 жыл бұрын
@@Daedalos_MSV No you have to believe in what Jesus did and know you are a sinner and that we cannot go to heaven in this fallen state and need to be born again to gain access to heaven and Jesus paid for our sins and once born again then your sins are forgiven but all the sins done after you are saved will be public when you stand before Jesus at the judgement. So we lived with God in the beginning and Adam and Eve messed it up and we where send here to earth where good and evil are together and God became human to suffer for us so we while we don't deserve it can get eternal life and God made it easy...

Getting HIV is one thing. People were either ignorant or weren’t careful back then. Which sucks. But the whole 1989 diagnosis thing, which actually I didn’t even learn about til this video, and fighting another 6-7 years? Unbelievable. And WTF, by the 90s the boxing commissions still weren’t testing???! Blows my mind. We’re talking the mid-90s, not 1983. I get that the temptation to hide it and not ruin your career is out there. But still; it’s fucking HIV and Morrison had a basic moral obligation to not put unsuspecting fighters, cutmen, trainers, etc at risk. Shame on him. I’d also imagine that for all his womanizing, he must’ve infected at least a couple. That’s actually a literal felony crime. Finally, has nothing to do with morals, but Morrison and his nutso wife got into AIDS denialism. Last I heard, his widow is still peddling the idea that Morrison died due to a surgeon’s negligence in which gauze bandages were accidentally left inside his body after surgery (which actually does rarely happen in real life), which got infected and caused him to die.

@@dinnesnieroppes3952 You'll never remove the depression if you commit suicide you'll just pass on it to your family, love ones, friends. suicide is not the solutions to eradicate the pain. Life is beautiful you just have to look the other side on it.

Ive learned to never let others tell me of someones drug habits or mistakes. They usually poorly or falsly represent that person. I give Tommy the respect he deserves and let him tell his own story by the clips and interviews he left behind.

he was such an articulate and intelligent young man. What did him in more than anything else was the company he kept. He tested positive near the same time as Magic Johnson and if only he could have followed that role model. Magic now a many times over multi ,millionaire successful business man and seemingly the picture of health 30 years latter. Tommy dying in his 40's but looked like he was in his 70's or 80's I feel so bad for him and how his life turned out :(

@onemoremisfit3 жыл бұрын
It's easy to see how his life choices led to his rapid aging, but there was also another factor: genes. He was a person who physically matured early in life, and those who mature early tend to age early. My 8th grade class had a couple girls that looked like grown women, and my high school class had a couple boys who could buy beer without getting carded. Tommy was a high school kid who could lie about his age and prize fight against grown men.

@@helenHTID Try this: on an average day when you're not dolled up but not at your worst either, stand in front of the bathroom mirror where you usually groom yourself. Put your phone camera in selfie mode, hold the phone so its display is side by side with the image in the mirror and compare what you see in the camera to what you see in the mirror.
