The wallpaper makes such a difference! Really dresses up the room. A little feedback if I may, it’s not so much the dry environment in Utah to keep you from worrying about mold under your mattress. It really has more to do with the fact that your breathing and living in a tin can, and you will be traveling to areas that are more humid. The holes you made in the plywood are a great first step. Next should be a mold & mildew primer and paint. Lastly a mattress underlay such as DEN-DRY to assure good air flow under the mattress. Great job Emma! Love watching your videos.

I'm not sure if anyone else mentioned this, when you want to make a groove like you were doing it works better to make many cuts with the saw, like 1/2" - 3/4" apart, then use the smaller chisel to remove the bulk of the wood.

You’re so natural in everything you post. Also this video is really you, so not filming everything does not make a difference for me as an Emma addicted viewer. I wish you only good things for your new road trip and many safe miles. Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱

I just talked about this in my last video. I’ve been getting SOOO MUCH more done with my bus since I STOPPED filming everything! It’s so hard to do everything and it really messes up your momentum when you have to worry about filming too. Your bus is looking great BTW!

I totally understand the camera distraction. I stopped making videos years ago because I just wanted to get projects DONE. it's amazing how much longer everything takes when you need to deal with a camera and the hours of editing after. on the bright side, the videos do give you an additional push to complete the projects so you can finish the video.

You need to use wallpaper paste despite it being "peel and stick". I learned the hard way. Also it sticks better on a painted surface.

In cutting that groove in the trim board, a table saw did that for me easily. Just kept moving the piece over a little the thickness of the blade multiple times and WaLa.

I really love watching you build your dream. I'm more than twice your age and I love seeing someone with such courage and boldness just doing it! Keep going! Couple of ideas I'd like to share. I have a 1980 vintage-ish, 12 ft travel trailer named Moonbeam. One of my most favorite ways to cover up flat surfaces is fabric and Mod Podge. It is amazing stuff. I have covered the walls of this little camper repeatedly as it has changed its purpose. Just another layer. It would be a great way to cover your walls and anything else with fabric. And it gives a hard surface. So far, no issues with moisture and I live in Florida. Check it out. It is amazing stuff. Wish I could send you a picture. Best of luck building birdie. I'll keep watching

Best way to cut a groove is to use a table saw. Drop the blade down to how deep you want the groove and run the board over the blade from one side to the other. Plenty of KZbin vids to guide you

@michaelholbrook4401 Жыл бұрын
For the trim that you wanted to cut the groove out, incase you want to something similar in the future, you want to make several more cuts, just like the two you did, down the center between the two. Then when you take the chisel down the middle, the thinner strips chisel right out. However, then you don't get the chance to ever say the word "frakentrim"... that there is a win! :)
@AB-C1 Жыл бұрын
Hey Emma, It looks brilliant! (I'd just paint the bathroom with clear epoxy resin so that it's waterproof!) Then you won't lose your wall paper and it'll still look the same as the epoxy will seal it but be clear! Aside from that you've done Brilliantly again! Have a great week cheers from London 👍😉🏴🇬🇧

Try using an iron on the wall paper.... as in, use a heated iron to help press the wallpaper on. The heat will help activate the glue. You can also buy wallpaper glue.
@tedpreston4155 Жыл бұрын
True! On some surfaces, a hot air gun works well as a substitute for the iron. But peel and stick paper will be a continual problem anyway, since you'll be subjecting those walls to frequent changes in temperature and humidity. On the upside, it will give you a reason to remodel your bedroom someday. You will have an obvious topic for a future video, and you can make double use of some of your footage from this video when you show us bloopers about why you need to "remodel."

I’ve done the same as you in respect to working on your bus and me on my Sprinter. You think you know what you want and you start building with really no plan. It’s take a long time to get it exactly right. If not you change it. That’s the fun of it.

When loading your Monkey, try putting the front wheels of the bus in a dip or rear wheels on a mound. This will lower the ramp and maybe make things easier?

Just a thought, instead of looking at KZbin as a distraction to the project, instead look at it as a way to get money for the next project. You get paid per view, and if filmed you get money to offset the expenses of doing the project. It might take longer to film it, but if that offsets the costs of materials and puts money in your pocket for your time, does that make it worth it? Hope you keep posting, I love to see the progress of the bus.
@EmmaBuildsBirbie Жыл бұрын
I plan to keep posting! I’m not looking at filming as a distraction, simply realizing that it is one and that it could be improved

Hi Emma it's Tony I have commented several times to your build I pray to God that hopefully you will read this one and everything you're doing in the bathroom looks nice but sweet you got to remember you are dealing with water in the shower any would seal it off as if it was a deck and or cover the wood with polyurethane if you get the paper stick and I would also cover that with Polly I would definitely like to commend you for taking on and achieving everything you did building this bus I commend you highly I have no clue about making videos the one I work I don't like distraction so must be very difficult for you to do both well take care have a great day pleasant dreams
