When scribing with compass, always keep compass vertical for overhead. You didn't, that's why top corners were off.

Yes Emma, you did it and it looks great! When you finish staining and painting, try using some rope to trim it out( where the gaps are). You can glue it or screw it and it will bend and follow so easy!!! I'm thinking by now you have tried to fit the bed in there and probably took a nap!!! Great progress! Also if you haven't already done so, you should probably keep that cardboard templet for the front wall by the driver's seat, it likely won't match exactly the curve but it'll give you a good starting point instead of starting all over.

Still killing it 💪🏼. Hot tip…when marking off your curves use something like a grinding disc and come down to something smaller like a large washer. The roundness of them rolls along your curves better and you get a more accurate line. Even cutting a straight line from your highest point in your feline to the outside first will get your cardboard template closer to be able to mark your curve cut. I hope that’s understandable 🤷🏽‍♂️

Great video! Well done getting that all completed! Awkward job on your own so well done! Key to scribing is to keep it dead vertical all the way across or flat horizontal all the way up the sides so you get the exact scribe mark in the right place and also have a point at each end so its spot on accurate. FYI you can do a ghetto double glaze with urethane, some descant and a 1/2"ish spacer and a perspex inner. might help to do the fixed windows in the sleeping area.

It struck me one day that it is easy to make small templates fit If you make the template in smaller pieces taped and or stapled together it is far quicker and more accurate. And any small gap you can just mark it on the template and add when you trace to the ply wood. I wish I came up with this earlier it saves time and frustration with so many attempts and gives better results as you get closer quicker.

Emma,... Little word of advice, 'don't put your new mattress right up against the back of the bus, make sure there is a breathing space otherwise you will get mould from condensation. Looking great all that wood is so very warm and inviting.. xx

looks really good. I finally painted my bedroom white (after a year of living in it), and I love it, even though I don't mind the cabin look. Too late to help you, but in case anybody reads the comments, I kept that rear piece of metal from my bus and traced it for the back wall piece. And for the arc in all my other walls too.

One hint for future builds install the back wall first then put the ceiling in that way it will hide the imperfections in the arch of the ceiling

The bus is shaping up. It’s hard to scribe to a shape like that. I like to use something round that a pencil will fit into. Then you can roll it along the surface and the dimension that the pencil is away from the surface your scribing to stays the same. I hope that makes sense. We need a new mattress for our truck camper so I will definitely check them out.

Just got a king size Brooklyn Bedding mattress. My back hasn’t felt this good in a long time. It may be easier to break large areas into smaller pieces for your template and then put then together.

Yay, Emma. Things are lookin' excelent. It was a wise turn to pick the shapes, although you had some difficulties with rough edges smoothing. The simplest way to do it is to cut the shape a bit larger, maybe a centimeter or little more and then shave it to fit par excellence. =) It works and saves hours of frustration. In your specific case this is also a collateral effect of having weak arc ribs, the understructure of tongue and groove. Remember, the best and accurate you can make the first step, the easier will be the next one. The sloppier is the first one, the more cummulative effect will bother you. Oh, about the compass you used to pick shapes... you extended it very rough by that piece of wood and the clamp.. You look always to have a point on the surface you're picking from, not a wide flat spot. Yaa, you understand it. Anyway your improvement is epic.. Just some more apisodes and you will be like a pro! Cheers, keep going. Yo, when you come for an european tour with Birbie, let me know. =)
