No this is GREAT!!! THIS IS ACTUALLY A VERY SERIOUS, IMPORTANT COMMON PROBLEM FOR PEOPLE. The problem of that out of sight out of mind "stuff left over from the move that's in the basement / garage / guest room / storage unit even " can too often become expensive and a serious hoarder house, basement, room, or area problem. It's a serious project that can and often should be delayed especially after a move but not for too long or you can be in serious danger. Tackle it like it's a monster in infancy or preteen. Before it becomes full blown adult monster.

@@tinaperez7393 the great part about the “delay” is that it gives you a chance to emotionally detach from the items and makes it easier to release. (Not always but it can help!)

I love how involved Luke is with everything going on! My husband is the same. It's been a huge blessing. Tag teaming all the way! Also, I'm new to your channel! I'm loving all the videos. I don't need help with decluttering, cleaning, or organizing, but I truly enjoy listening to what you have to say. You explain things so well and you seem like a very intentional person. Anyway, thanks for your time!

For three, the tips are super helpful. Love it. It's nice to focus on achievable goals and down to earth people instead of scripted perfect influencers. Thanks so much!

I’ve been horrible this week with the weekly 10. You really did accomplish a lot! Basement looks amazing. Garden: if you live where deer can access your yard, look for deer resistant plants. Fence your raised beds if you do have deer. I always start my seeds indoors to keep squirrels from digging them up. I’m in N FL & miss some of the northern plants. Oh! Good soil. I chose a less expensive soil last summer & it really did not provide what my plants needed to thrive all season. Praying you have a blessed week.

I'm a terrible gardener, but cosmos, zinnias, and sunflowers never disappoint! Cosmos and zinnias are self seeding, and I often find them growing in the most random places the following years.

So many great & TRUE tips here! Absolutely sit when you can, work with and focus on one object at a time. Be methodical and strategic. And pile system! And physical and mental strength and energy management is key in order to keep at it and eventually get it done - this is literally a marathon not a sprint and you need to do it in small parts at a time and efficient. And the big project has to fit IN to your other priorities like daily clean schedule and tasks, and even things like the Superbowl. So that it doesn't derail you and make more work for you in the other tasks and priorities that keep life functioning.

So 1- your hair looks awesome, beautiful and all that 😊 don't worry about the new growth because I don't think it's translating to the screen. And 2- I have a funny story about the eagles football player. I am originally from Philly. About 8 years ago maybe I was sitting in my favorite hoagie house with a friend catching up on life , when this very large figure walks in and sits down next to me. I didn't look to see who sat down, just noticed out of the corner of my eye that someone large sat down. I soon after seeing football playing on the TV and declare "gosh I'm so sick of watching football" and the guy next to me immediately let's out a huge hardy laugh. I look over and it's Brandon Graham! Boy was I embarrassed 😳 😂

Also, re gardening - 1) plant fruit trees if possible. Sooner than later cuz they need years obviously. 😛 2) Have a "cutting garden" just for cutting to put in vases in the house, in addition to flowers for brightening the outside. 3) have a garden of perennial herbs and the non perennials. They are wonderful to just smell in the garden much less cook with and store dry and or freezer freeze for winter and later use. Perennial herbs also have the added advantage of often being particularly beautiful and decorative even and especially for landscaping. 4) remember to enjoy the process. At its best gardening can feel wonderfully therapeutic. Just being and working outdoors with living, life affirming plants and soil and sun and fresh air. Nurturing and caring for plants has an odd affect of nurturing and replenishing you too. Physically, spiritually, etc. 5) BUT... take it seriously. Figure out and establish systems to keep it simple and efficient just like your house tasks. Unfortunately outdoor work, while it can be amazingly spiritually restorative and therapeutic, can also get out of hand and become a real bear too. 6) Pick the tiny weeds every time or every other time you're outside and watering, or at least once a week. Or one garden bed a day. This way it it literally takes just a few minutes and is actually calling and therapeutic. Otherwise weeds will get out of control and be a monster job and project and make the garden not an amazing sanctuary but a dreaded scary overwhelming chore. 7) POWER TOOLS. Have the right power tools. And hand tools. And any tools. Have The Right Tools For The Jobs. And point of use when possible. Think in terms of simplicity, and systems that can help automate and minimize the work. How to keep the work small and manageable and enjoyable even. But not a monster / bear!!! 😫 I don't have a yard anymore - a deck / balcony though. And I miss my perennials and herb gardens and landscaping.

@OrganizedChaos4 Mine is just to my shoulders I keep cutting the ends myself as at the moment I can't afford a hair dresser as I'm saving for a new cooker. You ought to see one of my sons hair, he practically sits on it when he sits down. I can't have really long hair as I get excema on my back and if the hair touches it I start to scratch. Either that or it feels like a spider on me then I freak out lol x

We have a finished basement with a bathroom, and it's a hot mess. Too much stuff down there. Both my mom and my father-in-law passed away within the past few years, so we've used the basement as storage for their stuff. I go down there and feel so overwhelmed. I just go back upstairs. LOL We've slowly started decluttering it. A little bit at a time. Since I have ADHD, I have to break things down into small tasks or I will get too overwhelmed and shut down. I'm not into football, so not watching the Super Bowl, but hubby is. I will just relax and read or watch some true crime on KZbin. Enjoy your Sunday.

@@OrganizedChaos4 Good way to look at it. I've made some progress in the basement, but I have a way to go. Hubby has to go through his dad's stuff because I've no clue what he wants to keep or donate. I've put his stuff all in one corner of the basement. I would love to turn part of our basement into a gym too. There's a TV down there, so I can watch stuff on TV while working out. Makes it less boring.

Do you have any videos on how to organize a small home with a large family? We're in a small house with several children, and all of us have a lot of hobbies and interests which adds up to a lot of STUFF. I am not an organized person by nature. Also, I work outside of the home a few days a week, plus running our farm/ homestead, so there is a lot of housework to be done in a small amount of time. I'm always overwhelmed.
